PortalKey
Simply by holding a key (item) as you go through a nether portal, you can now travel to worlds previously inaccessible without a multiple world management plugin. To use this plugin, an admin/op/server staff member must designate an item to be a key and the world that it opens. So far, the commands and permissions are pretty simple:
Commands and Permissions
/pk the base command. Shows information about the other commands
/pk keys lists all available keys.
no permission node required
/pk set <key> <destination> sets the world for the specified item. Currently, items have to be specified with item IDs.
/pk del <key> deletes the specified key from the list. works similarly to /pk set
portalkey.set
To use a specific key, you need the permission node portalkey.use.<ItemID>
The permission node portalkey.use.all will allow you to use any key.
To grant someone access to all permission nodes of portalkey, you can use the node portalkey.op

It still works even on 1.6.2. The only thing I would be doing is changing the version number. Also, I have no idea if it will work with ancientgates, but I don't see why it wouldn't, unless that plugin overrides nether portal functions.

Could you go into more detail on this? Adding lore might be a good idea, but before I try it out, I'd like to brainstorm some ideas on the best way to do this. Also, I feel like it's fairly simple - hold an item while going through a nether portal, go to the different world. Anyways, it's still slightly buggy to boot so I'm going to be releasing periodic updates here and there, and I'll probably be experimenting with the lore stuff. Make sure to let me know in detail if you guys have any other ideas ^^

Posted Apr 25, 2013v i agree its a great idea but it may be hard to teach players how to use it at some points but if one adds lore it could work and they might understand it better :)
