PlayerParticles
PlayerParticles has moved to Spigot. Please download the plugin from https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/playerparticles.40261/ for now on. Newer versions will no longer be uploaded here.

PlayerParticles is great to use as a VIP perk and is EULA friendly! Your players will love the amount of customization that is available for them!
The plugin wiki can be found here: https://github.com/Esophose/PlayerParticles/wiki

Permission details can be found in the wiki here: https://github.com/Esophose/PlayerParticles/wiki/Permissions

The GUI provides ease-of-access for your users. Simply typing /pp will open the GUI and bring them to a menu where they can edit their particles. If you are using the plugin for a server lobby, you can bind the /pp gui command to an item using a different plugin.

The section below contains a GIF of all styles currently available in the plugin. Please note that all styles are compatible with all particle effects, meaning there are thousands of combinations. I only show one effect per style in the GIFs below. While most of the GIFs only show the particles around a player, the majority of them can also be placed around blocks.

PlayerParticles will check for an update each time your server starts. The plugin .jar will never be downloaded, OPs will get a notification in chat when they log in if an update is available. PlayerParticles will also send metrics about your server anonymously through bStats.
Update checking can be turned off by setting check-updates to false in the config.yml. Metrics can be turned off by setting send-metrics to false in the config.yml.

If a player has their particle settings (In Options > Video Settings) set to minimal they will be unable to see most particles displayed. I am unable to fix this since it is purely client side.
I will only help you with errors you are having if you are running the latest version of the plugin and are running a supported version of Minecraft!

Posted Aug 18, 2014I think it would be a nice feature, where a player can use something like jusr /pp to bring up the gui, showing all the particles type, but only letting them select the ones they have permission to. Or if possible, also having in the config a way to let the server admin customize the gui by enabling and disabling which particle type to show in the gui and in which order.

Posted Aug 10, 2014Hi @Esophose
I'm currently setting up your plugin on my server, but it only displays 10 default particle effects, even if I've given playerparticles.*

Version 2.3 works great for me. Would it be possible to add item/block particles? Like diamonds, swords or dirts? If it's possible, it would be totally awesome!

Are you sure you can't use them all? I was able to use them all perfectly fine. You may not be using v2.3 which can be downloaded above in the section titled 'download'. The file hasn't been approved by BukkitDev yet. Block/item break particles will be coming soon.

Sorry about that. Forgot to check if players had that permission when sending the particle packets. That should be fixed now. Download v2.3 from the usual spot (Still unapproved)
If you find any more issues let me know and I'll fix them right away!

Posted Aug 5, 2014Sorry to spam you so much, but in versions 2+ permissions does not seem to work. OPs are fine, but players with playerparticles.* permission cannot use this plugin. They can use commands without error, but particles just do not show up.

I have no idea why you would want to have 40 particles per second, but I've added support for that in v2.2. Just set the ticks-per-particle value to 0.5... Any value lower than that will stop the particles from appearing. v2.2 also has Java 7 compatibility along with v2.1. v2.2 will reset your config.yml to display the latest update. You can get the latest build from the download section above. Note that this build is not approved by BukkitDev yet.
