What is it?

PlayerLink is a simple, lightweight plugin designed to make sharing URLs related to your server easier. With the mere typing of a command, a user can instantly be given a URL to whatever you set! No longer will you have to pump a URL through an announcer plugin and no longer will you have to have the URL in the clipboard for when new players join your server. It's all there for them. Whether it be a website, voting page, Facebook page, Twitter page, YouTube account... we have you covered.

In addition to just showing the link, there is an optional feature that every time a player uses one of these commands, it will be broadcast across the chat, to let others know that the command is there for them to use. All it takes is one player to use the command, and everybody online now knows about it!

Erm, It is possible, but I don't know how. For the time being; you'll have to either toggle it on or off for everybody until I find out how to 'permission-ise' it.

This is a much better idea than toggling it ON or OFF for everybody, I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before! Please use the forums to suggest things in the future :)

Is it possible you could make a permission so that people don't get the broadcast thing?

For example, if you could just make a permission like that so that only moderators/admins can hear that, instead of all the players.

Please make all suggestions on the PlayerLink forums. The features you described have the potential to be created into a separate, independent plugin. I AM thinking of added a /donate command howerver!

Just a suggestion? Maybe add custom commands like in a config? so I just type in a wordlike:

forums:Please join our forums! (so this would be /forums and it would display that message) donate:Please Donate! (so this would be /donate and so on...)

It would be good for custom message commands and stuff and I think it would be quite easy to do as well? Just a suggestion man ;) love it btw

"developed by a 14 year old with a goal to become better at java and developing in general." I was in a similar situation when I started programming, so I'll give you some pointers.

My biggest suggestion is to go open source. Why?

People who want to read your source just read it anyways, so why not.
People are more ready to give you feedback and find bugs
If you learned to write code by looking at other people's code, then you should pass it forward.

Anyways, enough with the open source stuff. Suggestions for this plugin specifically!

Instead of making your own logger, use Bukkit's "getLogger()" method. That way, your plugin output will always be named properly, even if you change the name of the plugin.
I'm not sure if "website message" is a valid node. You might have to escape it with a quotes.
Regardless, I would suggest using "website.message" It's cleaner.
While we're on the subject of websites, it might be cool to have a "website.message" and "website.url". The URL would be, well, a URL, and the message would be a string like "Please visit our website %1". You could then use Formatter or String.format(). This would make it easier for users to change their URL or message without the danger of damaging the other one

New Features:

Added option to turn off broadcasting for either /website or /vote or BOTH!
Added command, /playerlink - no information with it at the moment.

maybe you can make the plugin even useful that by typing customizable /<command> , it will output <message>

for example /casino may output "Hey you wanna play casino? Type go to casino portal in somewhere!"

Whoa! I'm 14 too, and I TOTALLY cant do stuff like this. High five! I dont have a website for my server (i don't know why...), but if i did, I'd get this. If you have any interest in doing a few more light-weight plugins, i have a few that my server needs. Either way, Good job, Slay
