Pixl 2.0, the Next Generation

Now, everything needs to change sooner or later, and Pixl is no different. I'm going to take Pixl from hardcoded awesomeness to a cloud system biased on Github's GIST paste system, so I can dynamically update the supported block list without having 400 micro updates. This also means I can do more interesting things with Spout, since I'm lifting the restriction on vanilla-only blocks. I'm also planning on a Spoutcraft addon that will complement the Server plugin.

Now, to ease your mind: the new GIST system can be turned off. If you don't like the idea of Pixl communicating with the outside world, I'm still going to have the core built-in vanilla blocks that are supported, and can be expanded using the new configuration system I'm implementing.

And since I've already stated it, PixlSP is in the works. I'm waiting on a good chunk of the hooks Pixl needs to be implemented into the Spout API before I'll release an offline unstable version of PixlSP. Once Addon-to-Plugin communication has been implemented, I'm going to link PixlSP and Pixl so you can have Pixl Server Profiles (and it also will fix the bloody persistence bug since 1.0 since I can store the variables in the client instead of the server).

Now, I'm going to release Alpha versions of Pixl 2.0, implementing more and more new features and tools. Once I get everything I wanted implemented, I'm going to do a beta release or three to iron out the kinks, and then release Pixl 2.0

Pixl wouldn't be alive without the support of you guys! Thank you for supporting my work!
