With pet names you can set/create/change the names of pets! Never lose track of who's who again!
This is a stand-alone, light-weight plugin.
Features
- Set the name of your cat/dog
- Use color codes in their names
- Unlimited renaming
- Multiple animals of same name (no conflictions)
- Protection against other people naming your pets
Setup
Drag the file into your plugins folder and restart(or /reload) the server. You're done!
How to Use
Pet Names supports the use of color codes (without addition plugins)! For example, in the pet's name, use &1, &2, &3, &a, &b, &c, ect... to do different colors! (Read about it here)
Step 1. Type /petname followed by the desired name for your pet. Examples: /petname Scooby-Doo /petname &2Crystal /petname Fluffle Buffle
Step 2. Right click on your cat/dog.
Step 3. There is no step 3, you're done!

- Auto naming pets (e.g. Diannetea's Cat)
Permissions
petnames.*: Gives access to all petnames commands
petnames: Rename YOUR pets (true as default)
petnames.others: Rename other people's pets

Posted Jan 16, 2014Obsolete?? Nonononono.. This is faaar from obsolete. Everyone on my 1.7 server loves this plugin - Both because you can colour the names of your pets and because others can't rename them!
Well, anyways, it still works. If you ever decide to update it, being able to name all mobs (Or at least the passive/neutral ones) would be amazing!

and a config/command to be able to set a character limit for how long the name can be. 20 letters is alot... :P

Greatly looking forward to permissions support, and hoping that will include the ability of admins/ops/whatever to rename other people's pets.
I imagine there will be quite a bit of ... inappropriately named pets.
