DrakenStark is right, the "simlpe" redstone is not "simple" for others. Also it's hard to craft repeaters, they requires stone, and many peoples knows only linking a pressure plate/button/lever/torch to a door/piston/lamp/trapdoor.
PS: I didn't said that I don't know redstone. I'm a redstone expert but i understand other peoples
Sorry for bad english.

Yup, pulse length is measured in seconds.
The reason I did it the way I did, was that the pulse length is global, set by the config. If players if they want to change the length of the pulse, they could easily do so with very simple redstone.
Additional info could be put on the fourth line, would just need some extra storage.

Sounds like an awesome idea, but instead of putting pulse length in the config.yml
why not use it in the third line instead?
Using the fourth line to explain what you're enabling would be welcome.
Example1:
[pulse]
1
60
Light Room
Example2:
[pulse]
50
5
Open Door
