OreWatch
Overview
Use this plugin to track a player's ore mining and watch for possible use of xray cheats. The plugin will track when a player mines stone, coal, iron, gold, lapis lazuli, redstone, diamond, and emerald. Use the "/orewatch show" command to display the mining log for a specific player. The log shows both the number of blocks mined as well as the percentage compared to stone. Look further into players with high percentages as they might be cheating.
The following video is a fun display of the kind of cheaters you can catch using OreWatch.
Installation
- Download OreWatch.jar from the link on this page.
- Place OreWatch.jar in your CraftBukkit plugins folder.
- Restart or reload the server.
Commands
Only one command at the moment:
/orewatch show [player] - Show an ore mining report for a given player. Following is a sample:
Configuration
Modify the config.yml file in the plugins/OreWatch folder to specify the ore threshold limits. These limits are used for color coding a player's report. Once the limit is reached, that item will appear in red on the report.
Permissions
No permissions at this time. The "/orewatch show" command can be executed through the console or by any player in game.

Posted Nov 14, 2014A mining log is a great way for admins to detect suspicious activity, but everyone, do keep in mind that this can lead to false positives, so I believe it best to find corroborating evidence for the sake of bans. This video demonstrates that incredibly high diamond mining ratios are possible without mods.

In this situation the user was intentionally trying to get a high diamond ratio, but the fact remains that for a person who caves rather than strip mines, higher than normal diamond ratios are atainable without that specific intention. I'm not saying not to use mining logs, just saying admins should be aware of the potential counter arguements to mining logs before they try to present them as their only form of evidence.

Posted Sep 6, 2013can you add maybe a time to it, to make it easier to keep an eye on those x-rayers. Example: /orewatch show 600 ExamplePlayer /orewatch show show <seconds ago> <player>

Can you give me an example of what additional blocks you would track?
