Orebfuscator
Orebfuscator - Anti X-RAY:
For all releases of 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x: Version 4.4.3
Now with support for CraftBukkit 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x!
This plugin is used to counter X-RAY Client mods.
It modifies data that are sent to clients to hide blocks of your choice, such as Ore, chests, dungeons, etc.
It does not manipulate blocks in the world file, thus is safe to use.
ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

Sorry about that...
@smeths
Yes, you can have ProtocolLib. It's optional for Bukkit and required for Spigot.

Actually, could you try getting 1.8.8 again? You might have a beta 1.8.8...

I've been using protocolib all along, and updating to the latest builds whenever possible. Even using 2.3.0 that just got officially released. That, combined with 1.8.8 orebfuscator, and now the very latest #603 build of spigot, with netty enabled, boots ok, but the first time a player connects, this happens every time:
http://pastebin.com/xus1T314
Then the server locks up, and eventually crashes completely with this error:
http://pastebin.com/jvT9PXW7
I don't understand the error logs, but netty and orebfuscator are clearly involved...

the built in doesn't use cache.
Those spots are for anti freecam and texturepacks, basically generating fake caves in the world to make the hacks useless.
@ronfkingswanson
You'll need ProtocolLib for post-netty builds of Spigot.
@Sidcooks
Sure, send the link.

I actually had severe java errors that prevented spigot from launching successfully with the 1.8.8 orebfuscator plugin and spigot build 601 (with netty on and the internal orebfuscator off). The RB build 485 of spigot works fine, though..

Posted Mar 6, 2013the built in mode doesn't have caching does it
i just updated both spigot and orebfuscator
previously i would notice lots of little clusters of darkened blocks while chunks were loading, especially inside of mountains
now im not noticing anything like that, do you know what that was about?
does the UpdateThread boolean still get used? i noticed it doesnt auto generate it in the config anymore

It's compatible as long as you have ProtocolLib plugin installed. It's as efficient as the built in, so you can disable it safely.

Posted Mar 6, 2013what is the current state of compatibility with spigot
is the plugin implementation really just as fast and effective as spigot if i go with mode 1?
what about the other settings
if i need proximity hiding orebfuscator is my only option there, so do i just disable the built in spigot orebfuscation? or if spigots is faster or more effective, can i disable your plugins orefuscation but leave proximity hiding on?

I fixed ProtocolLib support in the beginning of 1.4.6.
But it has never been working 100% correctly.
And it had recently broke and im not sure why it did.
BergerKiller fixed alot of bugs recently and he deserves some respect ;)
I thought the issue was ProtocolLib because people reporiting Orebfuscator errors did not have ProtocolLib installed.
I think the issue was ProtocolLib as first.
But now its all working again:
