Orebfuscator
Orebfuscator - Anti X-RAY:
For all releases of 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x: Version 4.4.3
Now with support for CraftBukkit 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x!
This plugin is used to counter X-RAY Client mods.
It modifies data that are sent to clients to hide blocks of your choice, such as Ore, chests, dungeons, etc.
It does not manipulate blocks in the world file, thus is safe to use.
ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

Posted Feb 24, 2012Iishid: I notice cache file maximum is 128. Any way to increase that? Seems to help a lot with CPU usage.
Also- if I move update radius to 4 would that improve performance? Trying to manage 75 players and keep this plugin. Any performance tweaks will help.

Posted Feb 24, 2012You can hide things like chests and spawners in the dark, so I thought you could hide torches.
What about "cutting" chunks - they're 128 blocks tall, so!
128 = 32 + 32 + 32 +32
If player Y <0 ; 32) Send him only lower bit of chunk,
If player Y <32;64) Send him lower middle bit of chunk, etc.
But.. I know what you will tell me. Too much calculation :D

1. Your players won't be able to see very far... You will likely to not be able to have a general overvoew of the area, or have a feel of the terrain around you since such a small area is shown. The block approach will probably kill your CPU for even a few players. You can surely reduce visible chunks through server.properties "view-distance".
2. ...And when do we show them? Again, this will take lots and lots of calculation.

Posted Feb 24, 2012Hmm... 1. Hiding all things that are away more than 30 blocks from player, but this will probably kill CPU. 2. Hiding torches and light (from all sources, like lava, pumkins).

Are you using Spout and/or NoLagg?
@wirher
Well there's nothing that can be done theoretically... I've thought about these problems for a long time... Unless you come up with a plan?

Posted Feb 23, 2012Hello. I love Orebfuscator!
But there is small problem for me. Because I'm running big server, with no grieff protection. Players build their stuff deep underground, but xrayers can easily find it. Can you implement something to prevent it?

Ok so, I will remove obfuscation from lava. Because the players are complaining that they are walking normally and suddenly the floor becomes lava, InitialRadius1 is not so good, he let me see a lot of ores :B
But ok so, thanks.

No it's intentional. using EngineMode1 and InitialRadius0 cause ALL ore to be hidden. This is so far the only way to counter x-ray texture pack. If you do not intend to have this, you can switch InitialRadius back to 1, although you won't be protected against texture-pack x-ray.

Posted Feb 22, 2012When I use the engine mode 1, a strange thing happens, even if the ore is in front of me without anything blocking my vision, he continues with the appearance of stone, only if I touch him he turns the normal ore.
My setup is EngineMode = 1 and InitialRadius = 0 And I also added to obfuscation, Lava, rails, coweb and torches.
Is maybe a problem with my server? or really a bug?

Posted Feb 21, 2012What a funky bug... Only when the two are together.
NoLagg and Orebuscator are both absolutely fundamental and vital to my server. While I haven't yet come across this bug myself I really hope the two devs can get together and solve this! I'll be spending alot more time out of op mode to see if I can spot this myself.

Posted Feb 21, 2012Quick update, I have disabled Nolagg on my server and haven't any reports of the glitch occurring since.
I did get the video working: http://youtu.be/arTsGPfnMP0
Again, this only happened while Nolagg was enabled (even with all of its features disabled), also the placed blocks could be mined and dropped for pickup so players were able to duplicate.
Thanks for watching!
