Orebfuscator
Orebfuscator - Anti X-RAY:
For all releases of 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x: Version 4.4.3
Now with support for CraftBukkit 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x!
This plugin is used to counter X-RAY Client mods.
It modifies data that are sent to clients to hide blocks of your choice, such as Ore, chests, dungeons, etc.
It does not manipulate blocks in the world file, thus is safe to use.
ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

ClearCache deletes all the cache data inside the cache folder.
There should be some plugins on bukkit that can pre-generate chunks within a radius or something, other than that, the FPS lag is minecraft specific and I can't do much about it...
Another solution is to use WorldBorders to set a border for the world so that people don't walk too far out and use up much of server resources.

Posted Jan 15, 2013For those running Spigot, good news!
I've discovered the problem. It turns out to be a (spigot's) temporary/testing optimization in Spigot that causes chunks to get mixed up when getting chunks.
Spigot reverted that change since this build (http://ci.ecocitycraft.com/job/Spigot/397/) and the chest disappearance issue should no longer happen anymore.

Makes sense - how can I easily pre-generate all chunks?
Also is there any more ways I can reduce the fps lag spikes? Maybe a way to change the distance between the fake ores?
One more thing, what does clearing the cache do?

Posted Jan 15, 2013Weird... someone said something about my test version but I don't see it in the comments...
@MarioG1
well, mostly a profiler snapshot of the java heap showing where the high memory usage objects originate, but other than that, timing info would be interesting, plugin list, CB version.

What info's do you need?
Memory usage info's (online players, chunk's loaded, mobs) or timing info's?

WorldGuard indeed should be affected since it causes block-physics updates which is then taken up by orebfuscator as potential block updates, although when you say high timings, is it multiplicative? (I.e. 10x or 100 times slower?)
Also, again, if anyone has the memory/tps problem, can anyone give me some profiling info about it? I have a local server but memory never went more than 400MB used while flying around at ultra speed, with constant 20TPS.

Posted Jan 15, 2013I'm just about to try out your new jar version, and i'll report after usage for 10 hours or so.
I've been running plugin timings for the past 3 days - what I've noticed is when OFC is installed, it causes WorldGuard to cause high timings, and also spurs out the memory and tps leakage.
With no OFC installed, worldguard timings are fairly normal - I can send you a whole bunch of timings files if you need.

Try reducing view-distance in server.properties file to something like 6 or less. It definitely helps a lot in terms of performance.
Though the lagspike when creating new chunks is surely going to happen independently of this plugin. Sometimes this plugin makes it more apparent that lag is happening because of its nature, though another solution that many people use is to pre-generate all the chunks.
Also, you could try this new build I just released which might help since it has a new scheduling procedure for chunks: (Can't guarantee it won't screw up something, but is worth trying as I've had some tests on my test server)

Posted Jan 14, 2013I have recently installed this plugin for the first time, so I haven't changed any of the config settings. Players on my server are having problems of more frequent fps lag spikes when they explore new chunks, but it affects a lot of people on the server, not just the ones that are generating them.
(Also there is sometimes mob/player lag when new chunks are loaded.)
Is there any config settings I can change to reduce this lag and still have a decent protection against xrayers?

Nope. This plugin doesn't even touch your chunks.
Also about your cache problem, it should be less than half of the size of your world files (i.e. if your world is 2GB then your cache can go up to 1GB).

Posted Jan 14, 2013Has this plugin been known to cause chunk corruption? I recently installed it and have gotten a couple of corrupted chunks already, which has never happened before. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the plugin or with the server itself so I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue.

Posted Jan 14, 2013Hmmmm those of you having TPS issues, memory issues and others, can you try this test version I just released? It contains an optimization for the queues that pass data around threads for processing.

I did all 3 of the things you said - no improvements, and using no cache lags many areas of the world a lot and puts TPS down to 3 or 4 all the time.
The server crashes after 6 hours or so usually, from the memory leak / sudden low TPS.
Here is another crashed that happened after the spare ram went down to < 100mb and TPS dropped to < 3.
Note: Upon removing OFC and testing for 3 days, server ran fine for the full 3 days without a TPS drop or without more than 2gb ram being used; so I can conclude OFC is the source of the issue.
