Orebfuscator
Orebfuscator - Anti X-RAY:

This plugin is used to counter X-RAY Client mods.
It modifies data that are sent to clients to hide blocks of your choice, such as Ore, chests, dungeons, etc.
It does not manipulate blocks in the world file, thus is safe to use.
ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

DOWNLOAD
Please read compatibility information before downloading as not all releases work with all versions of CraftBukkit.
Latest version should be on BukkitDev, or as a release on the Github page: https://github.com/lishid/Orebfuscator/releases
Please also download ProtocolLib and install it in the plugins folder.
- Is compatible only with version 4.0.0 or newer.
- For 1.9.4 support, you must use build 277 or newer of Protocollib 4.0
- For 1.10 support, you must use build 293 or newer of Protocollib 4.0
- For 1.11 support, please use latest stable builds of ProtocolLib for 1.11.

Features
- Advanced algorithm that hides ore, chest and and anything you specify in the configuration
- Spout compatible, but optional

Usage
Install:
- Copy "orebfuscator-4.4.3.jar" to your plugins folder
- If you're upgrading from Orebfuscator.jar, move the contents of the "Orebfuscator3" folder to the "Orebfuscator4" folder
- Restart your server.

Metrics

I get the same error at NoLagg from people using Orebfuscator all the time.
None of them seems to know that it only works with ProtocolLib.
Can you add a warning message when ProtocolLib is not installed on join?

Posted Jan 13, 2013I have a question before I use this plugin.
It clearly says at the top of the description this will stop Client Mods that contain X-Ray features. I understand that pretty clearly, but what if any protections will this plugin offer against X-Ray texture packs loaded in to the default unmodified Minecraft Client?

1.4.7 was a small update for the server and the client. It fixes a server side bug with thorns enchantement end dispencers and some client bugs.

My world is about 2GB in size and the cache is at a constant 2GB aswell, so it seems to be fine for me.

Hmm i have no problems with the cache it uses about 800MB but i have a problem with the RAM usage. Can you tell me how many players play on your server and how many RAM your server need's?

Posted Jan 13, 2013Plugin works well but seems to use a LOT of space for the cache. I have to stop the server to clear the orebfuscator cache almost every day on a 5GB partition. Is this normal? Is there a way to set orebfuscator to automatically clear its cache when it goes over, say, 1GB?

Posted Jan 13, 2013@lishid 1.4.7 plugins work with 1.4.6 plugins since 1.4.7 isn't a MAJOR change. all they did was edit a few bugs so plugins are compatible with 1.4.7 with 1.4.6 :|. Also when I'm mining with this plugin, what it does is if i go back up to surface, and another player is there where i recently was, then when i go back what i see is ores everywhere that were not once there

Posted Jan 12, 2013I have started to get a massive memory leak, about 1GB an hour since 1.4.7 came out, do not know if its ofc yet since i dont want to take it off. Ill do a little research into it, also some of my players have been getting disconnect.overflow alot lately, but only specific players.

Hmm that should not have happened...
Also, are you using NoLagg or other plugins that changes chunk sending?
Here's a few things to try: 1. Turn down your view-distance 2. Change ProcessingThreads to 1 3. Disable Cache
See if either of these solves your problem.

I have also noticed after more testing, it seems to cause a TPS drop to around 4.5 TPS, with 35 players online, then the TPS stays at around 10, whilst the memory leak eats the ram.

I've been experimenting with OFC for a week now, before I decided to post here. With OFC running, the server crashes after 4 to 5 hours due to a memory leakage. With no OFC, the server was running for 3 days, no crashes / memory leak / or tps drops. There is always about 2gb ram spare, with 40 to 50 players online. With OFC installed, there is only 100mb to 500mb ram spare with only 15 to 20 people.
During 1.3.2, OFC was not causing any problems at all, I still use the same plugins (updated of course) as before so I don't see why OFC is causing a memory leakage now

default config works just fine (also has best protection rate) for servers with less than 50 players. And Orebfuscator does not leak memory or consume much CPU.

Many people disabled it saying that it overtly consumed CPU and RAM. I couldn't have test this since I had no big server, but while updating to CB1.4.5, i decided to drop it so that there is less work to do for the upgrade. I readded it later on since there are much demand for it too.
It goes through a huge list of blocks per player every 0.5 second in order to see if the player is close enough to it, so that the blocks gets shown. This might be slightly processing intensive if player number is high and block number is also high.
ProximityHider is already back, but I haven't released the newest version yet.
