Orebfuscator
Orebfuscator - Anti X-RAY:
For all releases of 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x: Version 4.4.3
Now with support for CraftBukkit 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x!
This plugin is used to counter X-RAY Client mods.
It modifies data that are sent to clients to hide blocks of your choice, such as Ore, chests, dungeons, etc.
It does not manipulate blocks in the world file, thus is safe to use.
ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

What's your TPS with normal Orebfuscator? If it's always 20, then CPU load doesn't affect the game anyways, no?

I told him the problem, but he said that it's not the problem.
Hmmm try this. I moved all processing to the main thread. Not sure if it's going to lag to death though, just a test build.

Posted Jan 3, 2013Still consuming a lot of CPU with your build. We don't like to use cache, we never used it BTW, even with FAntixRay we don't use it.
"FAntiXray runs on the main thread, which means processing will create TPS lag"
Right. But we're running it right now with 300 players online at 18 TPS and CPU load avg at incredible 0.40. So, yes, you may be right about FAntiXray use of threads, but it's performing astronomically better/faster than OFC.
It's also pretty clear you have more skills than the FAntiXray developer (I read your talking with him on his thread). So, it's just nonsense what is happening right now.

Also, you have cache disabled. Do you know how much cache saves CPU? After running a while, 80-90% of the CPU is saved by using cache. You can set the directory to somewhere else on an HDD if you run on an SSD.
EDIT: I've had 100+ player servers saying their CPU usage is fine.

Actually, try this. I have included a small adjustment to processing and also a fox for caching.

You need a full restart for that to apply.

Posted Jan 3, 2013You really need to do something about it @lishid. I'm not the only reporting the crazy CPU LOAD. The ones reporting no problems are small servers owners.
If you don't fix it it's just a matter of time till an alternative appears.

FAntiXray runs on the main thread, which means processing will create TPS lag OR make everyone wait for chunks to load a VERY long time.
If you want low CPU usage turn ProcessingThreads to 1 and you'll save a lot of CPU, but your players will wait a long time to receive their chunks.

Try turn down ProcessingThreads to 2 or 3.
@CarrotPCdude
There's no bandwidth problem recently. If there are problems, you can always turn to EngineMode 1 to save bandwidth.
To general public:
Guys, CPU usage is normal. It means that you're not making your players wait for chunks to load. Make sure Processing thread is at least 1 less than your max number of cores and you're fine.
To sum up: as long as you get 20TPS, you're fine.

The problem is: there's not any working alternative to OFC.
OTC was abandonned by TryOvC. FAntiXray has zero to none impact on performance, but the dev is unable to fix a BUG that newly generated chunks aren't obfuscated.
What else can we do ? pray ?

Posted Jan 3, 2013Well lishid, then I really dunno what is happening to Orebfuscator.
The only thing I can say for sure is that it's not a viable solution anymore for big servers (250+).
FAntiXray is using way less resources than Orebfuscator and if it was not for the newly chunks not getting obfuscated BUG, My server would be running it right now.
Here's my config: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/43343967/config.yml
As you can see, we're using all the recommended performance settings, but, still Orebfuscator is eating the CPU and global server load AVG.
It's a really sad situation that we have to run our server without an Anti-xray because no viable/flawless solution exist.

Posted Jan 3, 2013How's this plugin for internet bandwidth usage these days?
Last time I tried it even with one person on my home-hosted server, there was so much lag they couldn't play. I'm thinking of adding this plugin to my new professionally hosted server soon. Thanks!

Orbefuscator has NOT become bloated. I've just recently removed EVERYTHING other than the main engine. (Basically means merging everything from Orebfuscator lite)
Orebfuscator is as simplified as it can be at this stage. Also, for some reason, it consumes less CPU then previous generations of Orebfuscator on my test servers.
Can I have your config for a look?
Thanks.

Posted Jan 3, 2013every 1.4.6 Orebfuscator build we tried is eating a lot of CPU.
The load avg jumps from 0.50 to 30.0 when we enable Orebfuscator, and we're running top i7 hardware with SSD and 32 GiB of RAM.
I think Orebfuscator is becoming BLOATED. Is it possible to have a LITE version with only the very basic features and configuration defaulting to the less resource intensive as possible?

Ok, that seemed like a bukkit issue...
@Sfmplayer
Go get NoLagg, ProtocolLib, and Orebfuscator, all latest versions. They should work well together.
@archlinux
Suddenly very high? Any idea why it'c causing? (Did you recently started using another build of CB, or what happened for this CPU usage to occur?)
