This plugin is used to counter X-RAY Client mods.
It modifies data that are sent to clients to hide blocks of your choice, such as Ore, chests, dungeons, etc.
It does not manipulate blocks in the world file, thus is safe to use.
ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

That is no longer caused by orebfuscator, but by the minecraft default system. If you experience that, there's nothing I can do to fix it since it's a minecraft bug. Wait til Mojang fix this.

Hmmm I might have spotted something that looks suspecious... Want to try this?
Here goes a dev version in an attempt to fix async problems by spigot.

It would be equivalent to 1.4.6-R0.2 (Build #02569). I have not tested it with regular CB because of how horrible the performance is compared to Spigot. I'm using build #362 of Spigot at the moment, but it does it with several versions that I have tried.
If you think it is an issue with Spigot I will mention on the post on the Spigot forum. I know a lot of server owners use Spigot and we would love a fix for this either way.

It might be the async chunk loading derping with Orebfuscator's calls and deleting chests because it's not loading the chests correctly... I'm still investigating.

I read it. Does it only happen with Spigot or also CraftBukkit. And on what build of CB??

Wait... what did you mean by bottom half disappearing...
It's always possible that the dev CB is having problems. Unless it's ran on an RB, I can't be sure about whether it's a bug with OFC or not.
@archlinux
Hmm the codebase for Orebfuscator did not change at all when porting to 1.8.1 (all i did was change the version numbers)... Which could only be one thing: something in CB resulted in that. (Most likely the async chunk loading). Will investigate! Thanks for reporting.
@Zilacon
Read through my 400 pages of comments and you'll know I don't ignore problems if they are properly reported and I know what the hell is going on. I really can't solve problems I can't even see or duplicate, not to mention if they're only partially reported with missing info.

Had to disable it.

Posted Dec 25, 2012In regards to Kainzo's comment:
At first it appeared to be an LWC problem with the latest dev version, but after rolling back to the release version it still persisted. In attempts to narrow down the culprit I started removing plugins that I was guessing could produce this issue. I removed Orebfuscator and have been running for 24 hours without any of these errors popping up. With Orebfuscator 1.8.1 I get several null block errors every hour and players were reporting the bottom half of their chests disappearing at the same time these errors popped up.
Anything that Orebfuscator could be doing to cause this?

Posted Dec 25, 2012There's a small gathering that thinks that 1.8.1 may be causing Chest-glitches (and item deletions)
http://www.spigotmc.org/threads/strange-issue-with-1-4-6-and-chests.242/
I can confirm that with 1.8.1 im seeing these random issues occurring.

Not sure, I haven't looked into the async implementation yet, though it is supposed to reduce load for the server's main thread and reduce lag.
