Orebfuscator
Orebfuscator - Anti X-RAY:
For all releases of 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x: Version 4.4.3
Now with support for CraftBukkit 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x!
This plugin is used to counter X-RAY Client mods.
It modifies data that are sent to clients to hide blocks of your choice, such as Ore, chests, dungeons, etc.
It does not manipulate blocks in the world file, thus is safe to use.
ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

How many chunks are we talking about? And how many players?
I know there's a default timeout of 60 seconds of processing time before a packet is dropped, so it's possible the sever was simply exhausted for resources. If so, you might consider changing engine mode or the settings in Orebfuscator.
Also, please don't just assume ProtocolLib was responsible for the slowdown. Orebfuscator caches processed chunks, so it will be much faster the second time around, ProtocolLib or not. It's also important to actually measure the performance, and not just go by gut feeling. Though admittedly, there's no easy way of doing that currently. I might add it in the next version.

Yes, I will keep supporting non-ProtocolLib. Although I might remove Spout Plugin support soon since it's unsecure (ProtocolLib should work with spout though, so use that if spout is needed).

Posted Nov 1, 2012Will this plugin allow support WITHOUT Protocollib for much longer?
I get really strange issues with no chunks loading when using ProtocolLib with this, I only used PL for this plugin but just found out I didn't need it.
Edit: I should emphasize that the latest version of Orebfuscator is SWEET without ProtLib, all the chunks load faster too.

Posted Oct 31, 2012Hmm.. I have some strange errors with it in 1.4.2. It works fine for a while.. then after some time if i relog and shutdown restart server etc.
Then when i restart again, i get endless errors of this(making everything lag and nearly crash server):
Well.. If i delete the cache it works again and after some time it begins again. I tought it was xAuth or MultiInv (outdated for 1.4?) So i installed orebfuscator as only plugin. The first error still happend after some time, even after deleting the cache. Very strange, maybe my craftbukkit dev version is bugged. When i don't install this plugin, no errors happen.
I used orebfuscator 1.6.4.

Update radius basically means how many blocks in a radius x should the server update the client with whenever block changes (block gets broken, etc)
Bigger the value, more blocks updates gets sent, thus making it take more network bandwidth. Keep this value 2 or more, but probably not more than 4.

Wrong version of Orebfuscator and CraftBukkit comination.... 1.6.3- is for MC1.3.2 and 1.6.4+ is for MC 1.4+
@ShadowKillerx
Just do the command /ofc clearcache
@iaXedu
It wouldn't reduce lag by much if you were to partially disable the plugin for upper parts of the chunks, at least not as much as reducing the view-distance.
@LordKainzo
It's a balance that server owners have to find between best performance and best anti-xray functionality. The default config should be optimized for best anti-xray while keeping performance reasonable, but might not suit larger servers.
@LEOcab
Cache just got fixed with latest version.

Posted Oct 31, 2012@LordKainzo Engine mode 1 is not as good as 2 but less laggy. You should also use the cache for better performance but it's currently broken under 1.4.
Someone else can explain how to modify the update radii. Look that up if not, I don't fully understand it myself but it has a lot to do with performance.

Posted Oct 31, 2012@Lishid whats the best method to reduce xrayers while keeping the "best" performance possible for the server? I'd like to know because this is causing a bit of lag and I, as well as others, want to reduce it as much as we can.

Posted Oct 31, 2012Server seems to be steady now with the newest version. We disabled iron to be anti-xrayed which seems to help. Is it possible to only anti-xray the layers were diamond is? If that is possible then the lag would reduce to a minimum. I guess this is impossible since the fact that chunks are loaded from bottom to top.
Many thanks,

i had same issue on 1.6.3 version but at 1.3.2 CB at 1 of my 16 worlds. Also idk why but relog was helping.
@lishid
Btw. I have to clear cache folder from main server folder called "cache" or "orebfuscator_cache" ?

Posted Oct 30, 20121.6.4 seems to be working perfectly with caching off on my server, except for a small issue. I can't seem to be able to turn off AntiTexturePackAndFreecam.
In my config it's set to false, and I even set AirGeneratorMaxChance to 0, but I and other players can still see the many black air pockets through unloaded chunks, after many server restarts and whatnot. I worry because it causes many players' fps to drop.
