Orebfuscator
Orebfuscator - Anti X-RAY:
For all releases of 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x: Version 4.4.3
Now with support for CraftBukkit 1.9/1.9.1/1.9.2/1.9.4/1.10/1.11/1.12.x/1.13.x!
This plugin is used to counter X-RAY Client mods.
It modifies data that are sent to clients to hide blocks of your choice, such as Ore, chests, dungeons, etc.
It does not manipulate blocks in the world file, thus is safe to use.
ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

Posted Mar 24, 2012Hey Lishy! Just wanted to check in with my results today. I started running Bukkit DEV 2117 today, and Orebfusicator REL 1.4.2 and it seems to be working for the most part.
I am, however, seeing a lot of these messages in console even after using /ofc clearcache
18:34:31 [INFO] [OFC] Error reading Orebfuscator Chunk cache data: Unexpected en
d of ZLIB input stream
-and-
18:33:29 [INFO] [OFC] Error reading Orebfuscator Chunk cache data: incorrect dat
a check
Thanks and keep up the great work, hope this helps!
Edit: over time these error messages seem to be showing more and more, I might need to disable it unless you have any dev builds out, thanks again.
P.S. Get on the teamspeak noob :P

Posted Mar 24, 2012Hello sir! :D
How much does Orebfuscator benefit from multiple cores? I currently have a dual-core 3Ghz Athlon 64 on my server but I have a quad-core 3.1GHz Phenom II laying around. I believe Orebfuscator is the only plug-in I have that would benefits from multiple cores, but by how much? I would set the number of cores in the config to 3. Any other setting I could change to improve performance on a quad-core CPU? For reference, I have a 30 slot server and 4GB of ram.
Thanks!

Are you running OFC 1.4.2? or are you still on the beta8?
@bigscary
Everything is flushed as soon as each chunk is sent to the client. Cache is saved on disk, and not in memory.
Practically any working x-ray mod can be used to check, as long as you get blobs of ore (or less ore if engine mdoe 1) Search them at minecraft forum or hackforums.

If you're running 1.2.3 I can log into your server and confirm it for you, as I have a xray installed on one of my many jars, but i forget which xray i downloaded

Posted Mar 23, 2012Hi Lishid! Thanks again for doing this work. My players get really unhappy when they discover obvious evidence of x-raying, and they complain that they don't feel they should have to go far from home to have any expectation of finding valuable ores.
I'm getting the out of memory exception (heap space). I do understand that increasing memory is an option, which I will explore. However I checked your github source and I don't see you subscribing to the World.ChunkUnloadEvent. Shouldn't you be subscribing there so that you can flush unneeded parts of the cache to reduce memory consumption? Maybe that source is out of date, I dunno.
I want to confirm that my settings are correct. While transparent texture packs are very easy to come by, I'm having trouble finding an xray client to confirm my settings for that scenario. Is there one you use for testing which I can use as well? I worry that if I just grab anything from the interweb, I'll end up with a virus. Will you please suggest a good client for confirming my orebfuscator is configured properly to block xray via custom client?

Posted Mar 23, 2012Any idea what could be causing this? Starts up seeminly randomly while ofc is running. Clearing the cache stops it for a while. (1.2.4)
Here's my config (the part that's edited):

EngineMode: 1
UpdateRadius: 3
InitialRadius: 1

Engine mode 2 does not cause block lag... It's just that you can't see the lag with engine 1. (and that's because of the connection)
If you want all ore to become hidden, even the ones on the surface of walls in caves and ravines, look into the texture pack x-ray described here: https://github.com/lishd/Orebfuscator/wiki/How-to-properly-configure-Orebfuscator.
