Open anyone's inventory or ender chest and modify it in real time! Works with offline players!

Description

This plugin allows you to open any player's inventory or ender chest and interact with it in real time. You can also do it for offline players! This includes access to the armor slots as well as being able to drop items as if you were the player by moving them into the unused slots to the bottom right. Additionally, you can open any chest that is blocked with blocks above it with AnyContainer and open containers silently (no sound or opening animation) with SilentContainer.

Features

OpenInv: Open anyone's inventory, even if they're offline.
- Read-only mode! Don't grant edit permission.
- Cross-world support! Allow access only from the same world.
- No duplicate slots! Only armor is accessible when opening self (if allowed at all)!
- Drop items as the player! Place items in the dropper slot in the bottom right. Can be disabled via permission!
- Allow any item in armor slots! Configurable via permission.
OpenEnder: Open anyone's ender chest, even if they're offline.
- Allow access only to own ender chest! Don't grant permission to open others.
- Read-only mode! Don't grant edit permission.
- Cross-world support! Allow access only from the same world.
SilentContainer: Open containers without displaying an animation or making sound.
AnyContainer: Open containers, even if blocked by ocelots or blocks.

Installation

To install OpenInv, simply copy the plugin to your plugins folder and restart/reload your server.

Really odd - I checked the source of the methods Spigot uses to send the packets for the inventory, and there's no way it should be treated as anything but a default container with a custom name.

Could I get a plugin list and the actual server version including the commit hashes?

Hm, that's a lot of plugins, and a lot I don't have access to.

1.12.2 is not a particularly useful version number, I'm looking more for the PaperClip build number or the output of /version, i.e. git-Spigot-4bd94dc-1c40a81. I assume by latest OpenInv you mean 3.3.2, but it really makes my life a lot easier if you specify. I know I'm being a pain about this, but I can't replicate the issue, so I need as exact details as possible.

I see you're running ProtocolLib. If you would please, run /packet add PLAY SERVER OPEN_WINDOW detailed and give me the logs of you opening someone's inventory. When you're done, /packet remove PLAY SERVER OPEN_WINDOW should stop it.

Okay, I've done a little bit of testing myself and it seems that ProtocolSupport is the plugin that's breaking it. Once I remove it, the problem goes away. It must change the way packets are handled by Spigot :/ not sure how to fix it now unless there's an extra field it wants in the ProtocolLib JSON object that's being sent on OPEN_WINDOW.

Very strange, that packet content looks correct. Appears to be a plugin conflict or something, I tried messing with language settings as well and could not cause the unknown translation key message to appear. I was inclined to blame ProtocolSupport, but with that present containers still appear correctly for me across multiple versions.

Unfortunately, it looks like this is gonna be the old process of elimination - make sure you can't cause it with just OpenInv, then add half your plugins. If no issues, add half the remaining, and so on until you find out which one's causing it.

Whoops, didn't see your message here for some reason. I'm having no issues with ProtocolSupport #390, are you running an outdated build?

Edit: Actually, looks like under some circumstances ProtocolSupport may change the container ID to minecraft:chest instead of minecraft:container. Not sure.

Hmm, where did you get build #390? I only see up to #195 on Jenkins. I updated to the latest version that I could find and the problem is still present.

Edit: Finally able to reproduce, thank goodness. I'll try and track down a fix.

More edit: Looks like properly implementing IInventory#hasCustomName does the trick after all. Should be a build out shortly.

Configurable messages has been on the docket for the better part of a year now. I don't really have a lot of free time for features, unfortunately. You're welcome to submit a PR if you can come up with a clean solution.

Please clarify regarding /?, I'm not sure what you mean. OpenInv does not interfere with Bukkit's help system.

OpenInv 3.3.0 is working on Spigot 1.12.1 with PermissionsEx 1.23.4 on Java 1.8.0_144 (64-bit) on Ubuntu Server 16.04.3 LTS (64-bit).

Please download OpenInv-legacy from the additional files. The main download now only supports the latest 2 versions.
