OmegaCurrency
Omega Currency
A successful server needs a money system. From gold as money to virtual economies. I think virtual economies are a great but some servers need a real currency.
The coins themselves are useless. They dont do anything special besides being used to replace gold ingots as a currency. It really depends on the server owner to make them useful. On request I can add a diamond coin or other coins that would have a good purpose.
- Requires Spout

Iron Coin:

Gold Coin:

Posted Jan 9, 2014I think it would be nice to have the coins' texture be changeable, as well as the name, and maybe make it work with a virtual economy plugin in the following way:
Say you have $200.00 in virtual currency. On the server you're playing, you can buy a house from another player for $149.99. You could go to a "bank" location, and withdraw 1 coin worth $100.00, 4 coins worth $10.00, 9 coins worth $1, etc. until you have the $149.99 physically in your inventory, which you can then give to the other player, which they can deposit at a "bank" to be safely secured and stored in their virtual currency.
Obviously, something like that would require several different kinds of coins, so maybe just force them to withdraw 149 coins worth $1 each, and 99 coins worth $0.01 each. Up to you.
I can see that this plugin is pretty much discontinued, but it would be fantastic if someone could pick it up.

Posted Nov 9, 2012You should may a Diamond Coin & an Emerald Coin, & maybe do a Redstone Coin, Glowstone Coin, & Lapiz Coin too. But ONLY if you want to. I don't know I think those would be just a great idea.

Posted Feb 14, 2012I found the item IDs! I really didn't find the IDs before, so I didn't have use for this plugin. But here they are!
Iron coin: 318:1024 Gold coin: 318:1025
I found the ID:s by using Itemizer plugin. You definitely should add those IDs to your post. Thanks for awesome plugin, I really love it, and now I can really take it to use.
And when people say "add more coins" Please do not do it. 2 is totally enough, and suggested "obsidian coin" would just ruin community because you can craft it as much as you want because you can create obsidian.

why wouldn't you switch? aren't you interested in custom items, mobs and a custom height limit?

It can't be independent of spout because it requires it to implement custom items.

Posted Jan 6, 2012now i remember why i wasn't going to use spout. Spout is trying to replace craftbukkit as their own standalone server mod API and i'm not interested in swapping over. So let them go do their own thing... Please make this independant of spout and I'll be very happy :)
At any rate, i think that people making spout required mods should be posting them on spout and not bukkit's dev list...

Don't need to. Use something like chestshop that'll buy these items for ingame currency and it's incorporated. The point of this thing is to make money REAL.
Wish it didn't require spout...I don't want to use that with my server. Too many things can go wrong with it...I'd really like to have this new currency drop from monsters using ecoCreature. Full circle of the product...Plus people can trade these coins instead of doing shop purchases if they don't want to go to the shops or they're too far away for one person who may be a route trader.
I might take another look at spout to see if it's worth it. I'm very weary about using spout tho...
