NoCheatPlus

Detect and fight the exploitation of various flaws/bugs in Minecraft!
Introduction
NoCheatPlus attempts to prevent cheat clients from exploiting weaknesses of Minecraft or its protocol, making your server more safe. Checks cover a wide range of issues including flying and speeding, fighting hacks, fast block breaking and nukers, inventory hacks, chat spam and other types of malicious behaviour. For a more complete list have a look at the Features Page.
NoCheatPlus puts emphasis on configurability and allows you to customize actions that are carried out when a player fails a check (e.g. silent cancelling, executing commands, just logging). Bypass permissions allow to control what check to apply for which players, all checks can be deactivated in the configuration, also having the option for world-specific configuration files. Many checks allow more detailed configuration to adjust sensitivity.
Certainly NoCheatPlus is not a magical bullet, it uses a lot of heuristics and even guessing, so you will encounter false positives here and there and also not catch every single violation. Example video of how NoCheatPlus blocks cheats (outdated plugin version).
NoCheatPlus was introduced by NeatMonster, building on the code base of NoCheat by Evenprime.

The following plugins might be useful to have a look at.
ProtocolLib
Allows NoCheatPlus to activate packet-level checks, covering a range of exploits that can't be monitored using ordinary means. Since roughly Minecraft 1.7.10, the fight.speed check can't work as expected anymore, due to changes in CraftBukkit. With ProtocolLib this can be repaired.
CompatNoCheatPlus (cncp)
Make plugins like mcMMO or MachinaCraft more compatbile with NoCheatPlus. Not all existing plugins are covered (yet), but you can leave a note or create an issue/ticket request for cncp. Phasing out: Citizens 2 should work with NCP out of the box, MagicSpells are working on compatibility too - rest will be integrated into NCP.
Orebfuscator
Orebfuscator fights all sorts of X-ray-hacks by altering the map information that is sent to the players, such that they have to mine blocks to actually reveal what is behind. Virtually a "must have". (Latest versions of Spigot contain features of Orebfuscator.)

If done with a large enough radius, it will lag the whole server.

I am fully aware of the player magnet glitch. When Ice and I were testing it, it didn't create any messages of players moving wrongly.

This exploit is based on sending PacketPlayerInPosition to move across the map while in vehicle. While it does not move the player for real it still triggers playermoveevent and loads chunks if factions is present.

Is there many such messages? Do all players lag or just the players nearby?
There is also other packet spamming exploits out there, e.g. with the result of fast healing and nearby players freezing.

The player may be causing many chunks to be rendered. Probably being done by being inside a vehicle and changing the player's position all over the map, causing chunks to be constantly loaded. This would make the server and and player's fps lag. (This exploit was made public a while ago... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AryqbB6ThJM#t=100)

He does that with some weird movement you see in console Player1274 moved wrongly

Lag but also latency can influence checks a good bit. In case of angle the check could trigger with lots of lag + latency when fast clicking.

Sorry i should have been more clear and offered an actual explanation. Currently in MC there are glitches at allow players to reach above the roof of the Nether, aside from those glitches we use essentials and with the correct setup a player could set up a home warp in the nether that would port them to the top of the roof. I was asking if this plugin could prevent players from doing that, or just in general check to make sure a player is not above the roof.

With Minecraft i would at least schedule one restart per day, but mainly for other reasons.
The current VL history implementation is not really fit for such high uptimes, because it does not contain any timing information.
Did they ban on base of actual complaints or on base of "random history checking"?
It's possible to set NCP to periodically erase offline player history, however a problem can always be not being able to judge if a player got most violations within short time or over hours of intense playing.
We are well aware that some server owners would love to have auto-banning, but i am afraid it's hardly possible - because "smart" cheat clients are much adapted to NCP, you will usually only catch the "dumb clients", but those "dumb clients" get prevented for most anyway, so i rate the damage of banning on base of incomplete information higher than not banning an actual cheater. At least server owners should establish some minimal procedure, e.g. some three-times-evidence:

Posted May 18, 2014The last server restart was two weeks ago. I played mostly in the evenings. I'm not sure, but I suppose that I spent on the server about fifty hours. A lot of time I spent on the building. I can say that I killed exactly 4256 players, but I don't know how many mobs I killed, but far less. My admin sent me this: http://screenshooter.net/1181291/tpmumtw Can someone send me the same thing, but belonging to a real cheater? I would compare them.

Reaching the top of the nether? By teleporting? No we do not have such check bust mostly a teleport/portalplugin can cause this problem too. Or did you mean they mine up there? Because the last top layer on the nether is badrock.

You see the discussion below? It's about that very data. I would not recommend banning in general. The data is slightly suspicous, but in my opinion banning without further evidence is too much, also because one needs to know how long it took to collect those violations.
What fighting did you do since last server restart (how many minutes, vs. players, vs.mobs, arenas)?

Why do they heal quickly? It's the fastheal check that is monitoring fast healing, it can be turned off,. I can't tell if it is it false positives or cheating or a plugin incompatibility...

Posted May 18, 2014When players play MobArena on my server and heal quickly I get checks come up in chat. It flood my chat all the time so is there a way I can disable the check or disable it telling me about the player?
([Player] failed FastHeal. Regenerates health faster than usual.)
