NoCheat

Thank You!
Thanks to everyone who used and liked this plugin. I've set the plugin to "abandoned" status myself (that's why there is a red box above this text), because it describes best the current status of this plugin. Thanks to everyone that supported me during the year of development, with money, bug reports or simply kind words.
What now?
NoCheat 3.5.0 no longer works with recent CraftBukkit build and you will no longer get any updates or support from me anymore.
If you want to see the original version of this description page for this plugin, you can find a copy of it here: Original plugin description
Replacements for NoCheat
Check out these plugins.
NoCheat+
It is based on NoCheat's code and is therefore similar in how it works. But it also adds a ton of new features. You can find it HERE.
NoCheat Classic
It is the original NoCheat without any modifications beyond what is necessary to make it work on modern CraftBukkit versions. If you like NoCheat exactly the way it is, this may be what you are looking for. You can find it HERE.
AntiCheat
Is a new plugin that's built from scratch. That means it will behave and feel different to NoCheat. I'm sure the developer appreciates new users and bug reports. Get it HERE.
Make your own
Don't like the presented alternatives? You may just create your own plugin instead. The source code for NoCheat is HERE.

Why aren't you testing Permissions 3.x there? Or I'm sorry for my ignorance, Do it have another different name?
Btw, I wanted to ask you if there was some kind of glitch at NoCheat like, some people informed me that it was possible to fly UP and DOWN inside the water, like NoCheat thinks the user is swiming and moving blocks UP and DOWN inside water is not counted, just to ask ;)
Thanks for all the work bro, really u work very hard and good for your plugin and I really appreciate it, I hope I will be able to make any fix or mod to help you out with this plugin.

Posted Nov 21, 2011Updated my plugin SuperPermsTest to v0.3: a few new tests, now also testing "old" Permissions (very interesting how extreme the time differences can get there). Also redesigned the results page to make the result comparison much easier: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/superpermstest/pages/test-results/

Posted Nov 21, 2011I'd like people to try and find out if what I've written here https://github.com/t3hk0d3/PermissionsEx/issues/134 happens for them too. And if not, please say so.
@OrgyMotherfucker
Should be fixed. Bows and other projectile attacks should now be excluded from the checks of NoCheat.

Posted Nov 21, 2011Hey, buddy. Have you fixed the noswing problem with bows that I previously mentioned? I disabled noswing check to fix it temporarily, but I'd like to re-enable it if you've fixed it.

Yes. That's the "godmode" check. If you disable it in the config ("timed.godmode.enable = false"), the rest of NoCheat should still work.

Posted Nov 18, 2011Newest version of NoCheat on Github is now a Maven project: https://github.com/Evenprime/NoCheat
If you don't know what Maven is, you don't have to. It only really matters to other developers.

Please open a support ticket ("Ticket" on top of this page) and especially include your NoCheat + CraftBukkit version numbers in the bug report, as well as what permissions plugin (plus version number) you use.
Such "It doesn't work" reports don't help me help you.

Normally I wait a bit longer between bugfix versions, but in this case where the bug was a major problem and I couldn't reproduce it at all, I had to get lots of people to use it fast after each change to see if I'm on the right track. Now that it's fixed I also know why I couldn't reproduce it or catch it while testing myself, as it (afaik) can only appear when run together with another specific plugin.
For the version scheming. Many big game developers use the #.
$ method for their (release) versioning, so that's something most gamers are familiar with. I won't change it now, but when I jump to the 3.xx versions, I may make that change.-

Posted Nov 17, 2011Evenprime85,
Couple things, one might I suggest you use a version naming standard such as a sequence-based identifier instead of a b c d for versions with small bug fixes? For example, 2.16.1 and 2.16.2.
Also, pertaining to bug fixes it would be wise to wait for several fixes to accumulate into one larger bug fix release rather than releasing a new version to fix one small bug every other day. This will allow you more time for testing before pushing the release publicly and resulting in more bugs. Just a suggestion.

"nocheat.admin.chatlog" is the node. Everyone with that node can receive messages of NoCheat ingame.

Any difference now? All those bugs could be related to the one big bug that I try to fix since 2.16?

Posted Nov 17, 2011I think I finally tracked down the randomly occuring "player can no longer do X" problem. I can't verify it (never got the problem in the first place), but it would make sense that this fixes the problem. So please everybody with the problem try 2.16c and tell me if it works.
