ArrowParrying
Description
Welcome to NinjaParrying! A very simple plugin, which is still under development. Right now it has only one use, with no configuration, permission or command file.
How to use
Using this plugin is really simple. If you block and an arrow is 5 (I'll add the possibilty to change this number via a command) blocks around you, the arrow is sent back to the shooter.
TODO list
- Make the arrows go in a much smoother way to their sender.
- While the player is blocking, the arrows stand in front of him. When he stops blocking, then they are sent back to their sender.
- Add a command to specify how many blocks will be the search range, when a player holds a sword and blocks (I think I've said the word blocks enough times).
Credits
- To aegisjester for suggesting the name.

I could add a number to represent accuracy, as you said, in the configuration file. As for your other suggestion (block only if the player sees the arrow), I am pretty sure I can add this, along with a cooldown. Thank you :D

Posted Jun 24, 2014I would suggest that you put it to a configurable value to represent accuracy. I believe this out would appeal to rpg servers and otherwise. Not certain how they would work out the event tracking but it would simulate a skill that would improve. Though I haven't tried it (internet works, but minecraft not so much right now) another suggestion, if possible, only trigger the parry when the arrow is blocked, as in player facing shooter within about 70 degrees. I think big servers would appreciate this better if players weren't able spam the block. Leave the sides and back vulnerable. (Then again, another configurable valve would allow limits where wanted but still keep the cool ability!) None the less, you did more than I can do, so hats off podnuh!

Do you suggest I should make the process of blocking and returning the arrow a bit more random?

As cool as it sounds I don't know that I'd actually use a plugin like this as it seems to have 0 drawbacks to trying to block an arrow.

Is there something you would like to see implemented? I can't think of anything so I ask you.
