Nameplate(API)

Nameplate(API) is not just a tool for server owners. What NameTag does is 2 things.

The /nametag command, uses the 0-9 and a-f colours. There is also a "reset" /nametag reset (player).

Server Owners

Have the ability to set a players name tag colour.
Allow other plugins to set a players name tag. (Username / Username with Colour / Colour)

Commands for Server Owners

To set your own nametag, you need the nametag.use permission. Command; " /nametag t [tag] "
To set another players nametag, you need the nametag.use.others permission. Command; " /nametag t [tag] [player] "
To set your own nametag colour, you need the nametag.use permission. Command; " /nametag c [a-f/0-9] "
To set another players nametag colour, you need the nametag.use.others permission. Command; " /nametag c [a-f/0-9] [player] "

Developers

Easy to use an API which does all the packeting business for you.

How to use Nameplate (Server Owners)

Install the plugin.
If you wish, players with the "nametag.use" permission, can set their/other peoples name tag.
If you want to give groups/players certain nametags. Give them the permission of "nametag.colour.[code]". But don't give them "nametag.use".

How to use NameplateAPI (Developers)

Add the plugin as a soft dependancy.
Look in the GitHub repo for more info on how to use it.

Is there any chance to disable name tags completely? Possibly turn it back on when you are in a specified range (permissions based) of another player?

Not compatible with 1.5.2 yet. You can tell in the report where it says 1_5_R2 in the caused by section. 1.5.2 is 1_5_R3 for future reference.

I understand that, but this is for the colors above their heads, I mean if you can put a color and a format into their name to make it appear Gold with italics.

normaly to colour and format u just put the colour code and then the format like this &5&n&l for it to turn out to be purple, bold and underlined

it is a little buggy to use cos when its in use i cant always see my friend who has his name color changed with this unless i tp to him even though hes right in front of me but other than that its good
