Multiworld
Craftbukkit 1.9 support!
Multiworld - The official Multiworld Project
The easy to use multiworld plugin, support custom end and nether worlds for each worlds, you can configure what you want, and you get it (limited to what I programmed)
History
I made this plugin because the previous author "Baummann", the original creator of Multiworld, became inactive. Before, it was just a simple plugin with 2 commands: /goto and /newworld. I took control of the project and developed a better version. We are now at version 5.2.8 of Multiworld.
Features
- Custom world generators like a world with deserts
- Allows you to change the gamemode of a player when you enters a world
- Supports relative coordinates with /mw move and /mw goto like the /teleport from vanila minecraft
- Block chat coming from other worlds to create worlds where the users have their own private chat

Other recommended plugins for your server
- LocationTeleport - This plugin teleports users when they enter a arena, when you shape the area like a portal, you can have your own portals
- hothgenerator - Generates a awesome snow world (Case sensitive)
/mw create WorldName plugin:HothGenerator
- multiinv - Allows more control between the inventories of worlds than multiworld can provide on its own.

Well, i can honestly say that i've noticed too many glitches and limitations that frustrate me (was able to bring items from creative world to survival as my gamemode didn't change instantly but after a few seconds).
Of course i can look for workarounds but the limitations and other inconveniences Multiworld has kind of put me down (this while the project has been around since Oct. 2011).

As noted recently, I think http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/multiinv/ will do the trick for you.

Yes, I had the same problem. Found I have to shut down the server and then modify the MultiWorld/config.yml file manually.
Really looking forward to getting the linking bug fixed ASAP as I can't seem to get any linking to work anymore for some reason, even whilst manually setting them up here as I noted below.
@ferrybig, have you considered moving this over to github so we can have more meaningful tickets and interaction for bug reports vs this messaging system which does a relatively poor job of keeping track of problems?

I'm assuming it would be something with `/mw setflag`, but I'm not seeing the specifics on how to set it. @ferrybig, what's the command to change world difficulties?

I use MultiInv for this functionality. It separates inventory, XP, food, health, potion effects, and EnderChest inventory per world/group of worlds. (That is you tell it among which worlds these things should be shared if any)
It also allows you to give players permission to avoid this separation, and enforce separate creative/survival inventories (I don't find the later useful, I just do it by world).

That is a good question, I thought there was a way to do that when in survival mode, but I'm not seeing how to do it now. @ferrybig, what's the scoop here? Is there a way to coax MultiWorld into preserving inventories for players forcefully between worlds as well as allowing them to carry inventories between based on different settings in the config?

Posted Feb 12, 2014Does this plugin maintain distinct player inventories between worlds? The description doesn't say, and I don't want players bringing items from a regular world into a hardcore world.

Okay, great. I could have done a `/mw listgens`, however it is a bit hard to read. You might want to clarify the text a little to simply be "KEYWORD: description" vs the way it is currently formatted. There are also some UNKNOWN ones: http://cl.ly/image/3b1p2U2A1Z20

if they expose their generator using the bukkit api, the plugin part may be able to use them
