MultiInv
What is MultiInv
MultiInv is a plugin that gives players a separate inventory for every different world running on the server. You can share inventories over chosen worlds and some players can be ignored entirely. With this power it is possible to have multiple worlds running on one server, but keeping them totally segregated from one another.
MultiInv can also separate health over certain worlds allowing for total separations of a world on a server.
If MultiInv refuses to work and you can't change inventories, it's because you have the wrong version of the TuxTwoLib or forgot to deny yourself the permission multiinv.exempt!
Update for UUIDs and 1.7.9 (there will be no support for 1.7.8 or below due to game breaking bugs) are here! Download will be available as soon as Bukkit Dev approves it.
MultiInv and MobArena are currently not compatible! Make sure users can only join a mob arena from the same world group!
Starting with MultiInv 3.2.1 we now require the library TuxTwoLib to maintain compatibility across various minecraft versions

Forums/Problems
The forums for this plugin (at the top of the page) are the best place to go if you have any questions that aren't just general comments (such as "I hat you" or "I love you"). There I can see which problems have been replied too and who still needs help.
Using MultiInv with BungeeCord
Since BungeeCord requires servers to be in offline mode it's sometimes hard to acquire a reliable UUID if Spigot/BungeeCord isn't configured correctly. Here are the settings you will need to change:
In the BungeeCord config.yml make sure ip_forward is set to true
On the server in the spigot.yml make sure bungeecord is set to true
By setting these two options BungeeCord will be able to pass the correct UUID to the servers. Please note that if you are sharing inventories across multiple servers that this feature is still in beta and may not always work.
Commands
- /multiinv reload - Reloads config files.
- /multiinv import - Imports flat files into a mysql database.
- /multiinv mvimport - Imports Multiverse-Inventories into MultiInv, with the database that you have selected. (You will need to have the Multiverse-Inventories plugin installed when doing the import, just make sure to remove it afterwards)
- /multiinv miimport - Imports WorldInventories into MultiInv.
- /multiinv mcimport - Import Minecraft player files into MultiInv. (Only useful when you've got existing player data and you are enabling the SaveInventoryOnQuit option)
- /multiinv mcexport - Exports MultiInv player data for the default world into the default world in Minecraft format.
Permissions
- multiinv.reload - Permission to use the reload command
- multiinv.import - Permission to use the import command
- multiinv.mvimport - Permission to use the mvimport command
- multiinv.mcimport - Permission to use the mcimport command
- multiinv.mcexport - Permission to use the mcexport command
- multiinv.exempt - Exempts player from inventory switch (If your inventory is not changing, deny yourself this permission in your permissions manager!!!!)
Configuration
^That's a link up there
Updating from MultiInv 2.x to 3.x
- Delete your old config.yml file in the plugins/MultiInv directory
- Start the server with the new plugin
- Rename the Worlds folder to Groups under the plugins/MultiInv directory.
- Rename shares.yml to groups.yml
- Cut the creativeGroups section out of groups.yml and paste it at the end of config.yml
- Edit the config.yml to your prefrences
- do: /multiinv reload
- If you are moving to the mysql database do: /multiinv import
- You're done, enjoy!

Please note, that while I (Tux2) am maintaining this plugin you must file bug reports under the tickets section. If you're having a problem, try replicating it in the latest version of MultiInv as it could already be fixed! Also, if you want your problem to be addressed please make sure to include the MultiInv version, the TuxTwoLib version, your config.yml and groups.yml files contents as well, (even if it is a comment asking for help) If you do not follow these guidelines your comment may be deleted without warning!

Posted Jan 19, 2012For those of you with problems with the 3.0.0 version I still am maintaining the 2.4.x series. I have also separated the experience between worlds as well since it was a much requested feature. As always my builds can be found at: http://mfav.me:8080/job/MultiInv/

I'm sorry, I can't remember paying for MultiInv.
The guy has school work to do, and is trying his best to develop this in any free time he has.

Posted Jan 16, 2012Shared worlds work fine for me, however when they go to a world that isn't shared, then return to yet another world, it empties their inventory! This is a big problem, what do I do?

as long as it's added as a secondary world (so they all log in first time in the creative one) it will all be ok.
This plugin doesn't affect inventories at login (because lots of other plugins want to and conflict occurs) so when then log in they'll have whatever inventory they logged out with.

Posted Jan 13, 2012Can't wait for the new version. I do have players using creative mode. So can i assume that when the new version arrives. I can create my Pure Vanilla world in it without people losing inventories? :P
Any tips on how to make this safe.. so vanilla and creative world don't mess up? ^^

Yep, finished now. They went ok but I think I could have revised more. They have no real impact on my final grade at uni but they make the tutors angry if you do poorly. Congrats on your test going well though.
@ryanwagner Thanks for the encouragement. Tomorrow (it's now 12:40am... so technically today) I'll try getting 3.x to work properly for Minecraft 1.1. I have work now but I should be able to balance everything properly as long as I don't fall behind (turns out programming is extremely distracting).
Also, if anyone could link a copy to a single player file from 2.4.2 it would be appreciated. It's awkward trying to get the old version on this laptop so a copy of an inventory would help me check conversions are working correctly.

Posted Jan 12, 2012Note: There may be a problem with case-sensitivity in the shares file... and if worlds are in more than one group (which they should never be) then potential disaster strikes.

Posted Jan 12, 2012Ok, after Friday I'm once again free to work on this. Changing just the jar should have worked by itself. I'm going to perform some serious test on this to try and determine why it fails some times and not others.
My main difficulty is I only have a laptop at uni and it has trouble running the server and client at the same time.
@ryanwagner
I can't believe I forgot to add the start messages... and restart/reload should all work the same...
Here's a rundown of what it SHOULD do: It find the correct inventory to save the inventory in and saves it. It then find the file containing the new inventory and loads it. If it's an old version it converts it then and there. Voila... it should work.
But until Friday evening (after 6pm) I can do little work as I have exams

Posted Jan 12, 2012Did you know it hides the inventory / deletes it / stores it & removes it when you change game mode no matter what world you are in? even if you dont change worlds.

Posted Jan 11, 2012The 3.0 version doesn't give me any messages to indicate that it is working in the console/server logs.
Also, when I was testing it only took a couple changes of the world before I got the inventory of another share.
I was already on 2.4.2 with existing inventories. I replace only the jar.
I have reverted back to 2.4.2, but was curious if I missed something that I was supposed to do when I upgraded.
- all of my updates use restarts not reloads.

I've heard both. Also saving the config to share one world with it's nether world will randomly change and make it a seperate inventory aswell. People loose their inventories at random when changing world or gamemode.
Looking at the way the inventory saving happends, maybe make this more efficient and secure?
Also, I cannot get MultiInv to share an inventory when switching gamemodes within a world with ./gamemode 0/1
