MoxieSkills

MoxieSkills is a skills plugin like none you've ever seen before. Having had three previous recodes, the current version is as fast and efficient as you will ever see. Train yourself in a range of fifteen unique skills to beat your friends. With hiscores, good interfacing and challenging levelling, you'll never be bored.
What Does MoxieSkills Do?
- Competitive levelling formula
- Vast range of skills
- Skill leaderboards
- Skill and XP dynamics similar to that seen of online MMOs
- Multipliers for individual players and their skills
- MySQL Database support
- Each skills is highly configurable - each has it's own file!
This plugin uses an email API to automatically report errors. I do not receive passwords (this would break Bukkit rules). If you want to keep your email anonymous, use Yahoo! email, otherwise use GMail (only Yahoo! and GMail are supported). There is also an option to send your server IP to improve communications. This plugin also uses an auto-updater and MCStats.

Posted Jan 23, 2013Are there going to be stats, like McMMO, or just abilities? I honestly think that if you could set up different constant stats that improve a bit with each level, you could easily blow McMMO out of the water.

Not a bad idea, however this'll end up using up a lot of memory, so its not really viable for larger servers.

I think the best idea is just to let owners configure it with the block that is broken, and the block it drops, and make this changeable per server - it's also worth saying it only has a % chance of happening

Posted Jan 20, 2013@Danta1st Maybe if double drops are disabled on Blocks of Iron, Gold, Diamond and Emerald, or maybe when mined they turn back into the 9 ingots used to make the block, so a double drop could give 10 ingots.

i'm still not sure your understanding me. ;b I mean how do i prevent players from cheating, and thereby gaining an infinite amount of blocks by replacing them after mining, and mining them again ;b

Well, as it will be a mining skill, I'd be able to just double the drop on most things but for the gold ore and iron ore, it'd have to drop the ingot instead.

Posted Jan 19, 2013I'm making a server where things are going to be absolutely nightmare hard.
It'll be hard for them to reach the fifth floor without dying (death = ban) if you can only attack with your sword in one way.
Could you add some abilities that do more damage?
Also, how will abilities be activated?

What i meant is how will you prevent players from abusing it? Lets say i have 10 blocks of diamond, mining those for double drop, placing them again, and do it all over?

Yeah the double drop will be an ability based on a % chance, but you'll be able to configure what exactly is dropped.

How will you prevent exploit of the double drop? Depending on how you do please make it so the server admins can disable/Enable the double drop. : )

This will happen in some way or another. There will be abilities that give double drops, or chances of safe falling, and as you say, a chance to critical hit. And the chance of these happening does increase with level with respect to the multiplier you will add in the config :)

Like, say if your strength hit level 50... Would your attacks inflict more damage?

Hey, I know McMMO does quite a lot more than most small servers can handle, that's why I want all the enable/disable features. The NPC support is actually in another Jar! It'll come as a Character Jar for Citizens 2.0. All of the features currently going in are related to abilities, the reason its taking time is because I want it to be adaptable to different servers, seeing as "no one thing fits all". As for ability info, there will be a page similar to that given for config set-up, but obviously I'll add another page that gives a default description of each skill for owners.
Thanks for showing an interest, it'll be people like you that give me the ideas to shape this into a plugin that will be *useful* rather than just attractive like some other plugins :P Thanks again

ok. Sounds promising. Please don't stuff to much into one plugin, Rather separate them into several categories.. fx. skills and abilities in one jar, npc functionality into another, etc. etc. I don't really know how far you plan to take this plugin, but mcmmo is way to demanding, and has way to many features which takes up server ressources.
I will be following this closely ;) For now i recommend just concentrating on skills & abilities, polish, and adjust those, then wait with the other stuff ;b

Hey, the reward system is fully implemented now. To @Danta1st as well, the skills are going to unlock abilities with the next release, but I would rather fill it out properly rather than upload a version with say only 3 abilities. I can say that abilities can be toggle for purchase/immediate unlock, they will be multiskill, and the purchasable abilities will have sign support as well as Support for a Citizens 2.0 character which will be uploaded as MoxieNPC, so basically NPC support too, although this is just optional, as I don't want to force owners to use specific plugins they dont want :D
