Movecraft
NOW MOVED TO SPIGOTMC, CHECK HERE FOR NEWER VERSIONS:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/movecraft.31321/

A Brief Description
Movecraft is a plugin that has been designed to give purpose to those extremely large (and awesome) oceans as well as to simply give the option to Sail, Drive, or Pilot amazing Ships, Creations, or Zeppelins. It allows the player and/or players to craft Vessels out of blocks that can be piloted and thus moved. Hence the name MoveCraft.
Credit
Movecraft was first created by Yogoda for hMod.
Movecraft 3 is a complete recode. It's only similarity to the Movecraft of Yogada is it's name.

Permissions
Movecraft uses the following permissions:
movecraft.<craft name>.pilot
movecraft.<craft name>.move
movecraft.<craft name>.rotate
movecraft.<craft name>.repair
For example, if you have a craft named "Airship", you would need movecraft.Airship.pilot, movecraft.Airship.move, and movecraft.Airship.rotate in order to completely use it.
There is also:
movecraft.<craft name>.create - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.cruisesign - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.commands - grants access to /pilot, /cruise, /release, /rotateleft, /rotateright, /craftreport
You can also control these granularly with:
movecraft.commands.release
movecraft.commands.pilot
movecraft.commands.rotateleft
movecraft.commands.rotateright
movecraft.commands.cruise
movecraft.commands.craftreport
Dependencies
Movecraft does not require any other plugin to function, however certain features require additional plugins:
WorldEdit (>6.0) - For repair system
Vault - For payment system
In addition, the following plugins are supported for compatibility:
Cannons - Cannons will move with a piloted craft
WorldGuard - Region protection
Most common permission plugins - Assign permissions to various craft features

Can you give more details? Maybe use this tutorial as a base point and say where your server goes wrong in following the steps?

@DeadlyElite
I know it works fine with just Craftbukkit and a permission plugin so I don't think it needs Spout.

You can't use water-borne craft in Movecraft 3 yet, it has not been re-implemented. Hopefully AJ will eventually get around to it :/ I miss submarines particularly.

Posted Sep 14, 2013I made a tutorial detailing how to set up Movecraft from scratch with a fresh install of CraftBukkit, including permissions and some craft files. Its my first, and I can't guarantee the quality, but it should get the point across on how to set things up.

When I had this issue it turned out to be a permission problem. To check make the user trying to use the airship an "op" by putting their name in the "ops.txt" file and reboot the server.
@TwortleGod
I would love to make a tutorial showcasing the mod, including setup and config, and including some airship battles to demonstrate the possibilities. The only reason I haven't done it already is I have been waiting for a fix for redstone components. But I'm thinking of using WorldEdit as a cludge to fix everything after movement by repasting the airship. Just to get the video done. Comments / suggestions?

Posted Sep 9, 2013I know this is really only maintained for the sky pirates server, so this is a low priority - but is any of the previous functionality of the old movecraft going to be put back in?
Eg - see a movie from one of my old (now unplayable) war servers using moviecraft -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jX01FjR_Bw
Not shown in videos is speed boats and submarines too. Briefly used the drills too at one point.
Video above only shows ground vehicles, aircraft, and bombers in action.

Read the last 3 lines of "2. How to Configure? (optional)"
Actually I'll quote it for you "To create a craft make a sign with the Craft Type in the top line, for example: Aircraft
To pilot simply right click with a stick.
To rotate create a sign with [helm] in the top line. Right clicking the sign will make a wheel, which can then be right and left clicked to rotate the craft."
This plugin doesn't use /commands, it's sign based,
Also /movecraft isn't part of this plugin, it's an additional plugin used in the main movecraft server The Skyland Pirates on MadRealms.

Posted Sep 6, 2013Hi AJCStriker,
Sorry for the double post but maybe you could help me out with something.
I have a multiverse server with 5 worlds (World, Nether, End, MV1 and MV2). Using the newest bukkit and movecraft updates now.
Now I can create, pilot, move, turn and release ships perfectly in all worlds. But when I try to place a storage crate in MV1 or MV2 it just gets placed as a regular piston. Is there a perm or config I might need to put in multiverse to allow crates to be placed?
Thanks, ~ Wolfe

Did everyone forget about crates? The fabulous designer of this plugin has you covered. there are custom blocks added along with this plugin (all included i might add) called crates that are crafted with 8 OAK planks around a chest. it turns a regular chest into a crate which acts exactly like a chest but can fly on your ship with no issues.
this is of course if it wasn't removed in the most recent update, I'm still running an older one.
i just went back up to read the post and...
Current Bugs Because of Minecraft mechanics chests cant be translated properly. Use furnaces, droppers or *Movecrafts crates* instead.

I think I can answer that one. Chests are a known problem, and there isn't a simple fix due to the way they work within the Minecraft code. On my designs I use dispensers for storage, as they work fine. It works ok, but you do have to learn to conserve space. Use iron blocks instead of iron, raw wood instead of cut wood, etc. It also helps that you can stack dispensers as high and wide as you like with no space in between, unlike chests. Also, Ender Chests work fine as well.
