Movecraft
NOW MOVED TO SPIGOTMC, CHECK HERE FOR NEWER VERSIONS:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/movecraft.31321/

A Brief Description
Movecraft is a plugin that has been designed to give purpose to those extremely large (and awesome) oceans as well as to simply give the option to Sail, Drive, or Pilot amazing Ships, Creations, or Zeppelins. It allows the player and/or players to craft Vessels out of blocks that can be piloted and thus moved. Hence the name MoveCraft.
Credit
Movecraft was first created by Yogoda for hMod.
Movecraft 3 is a complete recode. It's only similarity to the Movecraft of Yogada is it's name.
Documentation, Tutorials, Quick Start Guide, and Demo Videos
For documentation and information, use this link:

Also the builds on that site are more up to date than the builds on this site, so download the latest version there. Please be aware the builds on that site have not been checked by the dev.bukkit.org staff, so use at your own risk.
Here is a brief summary of Movecraft features covered on that site:
Control Method Options
- Sign and Pilot Tool
- Sign only
- Direct Control (the players movements control the craft)
- Misc Commands - /manoverboard, /release, etc
- Remote Signs to remotely activate command signs from other parts of the ship (Turn turrets, launch torpedoes, etc)
Craft Options
- Basic craft configuration options including size, speed, allowed block types, required blocks, etc
- Customizable Cruise Control to keep the craft moving forward
- Customizable Fuel Burning behavior
- Customizable sinking/crashing behavior including smoke, explosion on impact, and uncontrollable dives
- Restricting motion to horizontal or vertical planes
- Customizable "Hover" land contour following behavior for cars and surface vehicles
- Optional craft teleportation
- Require water contact for sailing ships and water craft
- Crafts that explode when they collide with things for ramming or torpedoes
- Repair signs to repair your ship, requires mats, and can require a fee
Server Options
- Customizable Pilot Tool for craft control (or you can disable it to force sign only movement)
- Man Overboard timeout to allow anyone who falls out of a craft to get back in it
- Configurable WorldGuard protection against moving into forbidden areas or sinking over protected areas
Permissions
Movecraft uses the following permissions:
movecraft.<craft name>.pilot
movecraft.<craft name>.move
movecraft.<craft name>.rotate
movecraft.<craft name>.repair
For example, if you have a craft named "Airship", you would need movecraft.Airship.pilot, movecraft.Airship.move, and movecraft.Airship.rotate in order to completely use it.
There is also:
movecraft.<craft name>.create - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.cruisesign - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.commands - grants access to /pilot, /cruise, /release, /rotateleft, /rotateright, /craftreport
You can also control these granularly with:
movecraft.commands.release
movecraft.commands.pilot
movecraft.commands.rotateleft
movecraft.commands.rotateright
movecraft.commands.cruise
movecraft.commands.craftreport
Dependencies
Movecraft does not require any other plugin to function, however certain features require additional plugins:
WorldEdit (>6.0) - For repair system
Vault - For payment system
In addition, the following plugins are supported for compatibility:
Cannons - Cannons will move with a piloted craft
WorldGuard - Region protection
Most common permission plugins - Assign permissions to various craft features

@AJCS/Mod engineer
I stumbled across your plugin while working on my current servers set of plugins, and I have to say I like the idea, and have already started implementing things in my server for when it is complete or at least to a release state.
I will say however, that there is no good way to find information on the plugin. This is the currently kept repository for information/bug reports/questions etc, but it is not the most efficient for any of those. Not to mention the second dev.bukkit.org entry for Movecraft created by you last year before work got halted.
If I could make a big recommendation, add a forum to this page, and allow the users trying to utilize the plugin help eachother with some of the more basic questions and weeding out old information, that way you don't spend your time trying to keep up with answering questions.
That and it would be a good way to put up notes on what you're currently working on for the mod, suggestions, and etc that is easily view able without having to go through, as of right now, 1076 comments in 108 pages.
If there already is a forum somewhere, then I am unsure of where it is, as I mentioned before, it was extremely hard to find a reliable, official, source of information for move craft. You should also close the old plugin entry for Movecraft that way you don't drive away potential supporters with a bunch of wrong information that is no longer applicable to the current version of Movecraft. Example: the /pilot /sail commands haven't been used in awhile from what I can gather, and actually /boat sail makes my minecraft crash.
Just my 3 cents.
Keep up the good work, and I hope this doesn't sound like a gripe.

Hi ACJStriker, first off I would like to thank you for making this plugin. The idea is brilliant and the execution is beautiful. I had a few comments/questions: 1. On the servers I have played on with Movecraft (incuding Madrealms) there were many commands to pilot boats and list movecraft types, but when I put Movecraft on my private server, no commands showed up in /help and the regular commands I knew from other servers did not work. The only command that worked was /release. Also, instead of piloting my boat by using a command, I had to use a sign as stated in the description. Do you happen to know why the commands might no be showing up in /help, why some of the usual commands apparently dont exist, and if it is possible to use a command instead of a sign for piloting the boat. Thank you.
2. When I right click the [helm]/wheel sign, the boat turns successfully, but the [helm]/wheel sign does not act as part of the boat and does not move with the boat.
Thank you in advance for the answer, Leo

No error, no problem.
I genuinely cannot help you unless you submit a better bug report. As always bugs should be posted on github, and if no error log is available then a video of the exact steps to recreate the problem is almost a must.

Posted Apr 25, 2013Also, maybe an idea for movecraft
If its possibel, maybe we can make it so that certain craft types require engines, instead of just a certain ammount of wool or other blocks
The engine would be a structure built which uses a player defined .schematic file as a reference, and certain craft would require a certain engine in order to move.

There is no /help in movecraft.
There is no pilot command, simply use the sign system.

This is what you need to do:
1. Install Movecraft
2. Get Notepad++ source code editor, if you don't already have it
3. Copy the text of the aircraft template into Notepad++
4. Click "save as" and save it as 'aircraft.craft'
5. After confirming that the file is actually 'aircraft.craft' and not 'aircraft.craft.txt', navigate to [your server directory]/plugins/movecraft/types/ and paste aircraft.craft there.
6. Run the server and make sure that when movecraft loads, it tells you '1 craft type loaded' or something along those lines; I can't remember exactly.
Was that so hard?

How is our rotate worse?
NB : I don't get anything from madrealms, donating to them is not actually supporting movecraft.

Posted Apr 22, 2013Hi AJCStriker,
First of all, awesome work on this plugin, it is my absolute favorite and I have supported you through Madrealms: Skyland Pirates.
Second, I really hate to have to say this but the Ships plugin by Qx2 (i might have got that wrong) only has 1 thing better than your plugin, his turn/rotate it far better. I can also see how it'll probably be optimized when you add engines making your plugin, without a doubt, the best movement plugin here.
Keep up the good work.
Also, if anyone is having trouble with how this plugin works just log into the Madrealms server, everything is explained there clear as day.

Posted Apr 22, 2013@AJCStriker: The sheer number of daft queries indicates the "Brief Description" above needs to be modified, to say that WATER-BORNE SHIPS are not yet possible with Movecraft 3, only basic FLYING CRAFT. I know it won't dissuade some folk, TLDR...
*Now Possible*: Aircraft, Airships, UFO, Flying Carpet, ...
*Not Yet Possible*: Ship, Boat, Train, Bomber, Drill, Submarine, USO, Car
