Overview
motd is a lightweight MOTD and basic command plugin for your minecraft server.
There are lots of 'basic commands' plugins around here, but most of them have lots of features you will never need - or they do not allow you to deactivate them easily. They often cause lag and make configuring your server a pain in the * because there is no documentation.
With motd I made a simple, yet powerful plugin for creating advanced, custom colored and formatted MOTDs, who lists and rules. If you do not have the time to always be around on your server, rtp and vtime can help you. Even if you decide to install permissions on your server, motd is ready for that change.

Posted Aug 8, 2017This plugin is one of it's kind and I would like to see it updated. I hate to install whole Essentials package only to get player greeting on join. Version v1.2 is broken on Spigot 1.12 and 1.12.1. Is it possible to get this updated? Thanks :)

Posted Jan 14, 2017Yes you certainly can! Check the 'motd.edit' section in the manual :) May I ask how you are using motd? Are you still running Bukkit 1.2 or are you using a compatible alternative like Spigot? If there is demand, I can make a release of motd for a more recent version of Minecraft (1.7/1.10/1.11+).

Yeah it fails retrieving the player object, since admin/console is not a valid player. MOTD is not really designed to be used by console.

Posted Dec 6, 2012Great plugin, 2 things I would like to see tho. Group support, so only a certain group sees the motd, and the option to move the motd down, currently on my server when an admin logs in they get bombarded by plugin messages and shit and the motd is off the screen at the top, so unless they open chat and scroll up they wont see it. Any way to delay the motd a few seconds or have it show up under the list of players when you log in
