More Potions
More potions adds more brewable potions to the game!
So yes, there are a lot of potion plugins out there that allow you to access the 'hidden' potions in the game, but More Potions has a big difference. More potions allows you to get these special potions through brewing! This means no cheaty commands, or permissions to hand out, just simple vanilla potion brewing. Of course if you want to cheat the potions in, there are options for this too :)
The potions
The plugin adds in the following new potions:
- Potion of Haste - This potion allows you to break blocks at faster speed, an additional 20% with each level.
- Potion of Dullness - This is the opposite of the Potion of Haste.
- Potion of Leaping - This increases the players jump height.
- Potion of Nausea - This potion wobbles and warps the screen of the recipient.
- Potion of Resistance - This potion reduces all incoming damage by 20% for each level.
- Potion of Water Breathing - This potion sets and holds the air meter at 100% (Just like in 1.7)
- Potion of Blindness - This potion creates a thick black fog around the player, as well as preventing sprinting and critical hits.
- Potion of Hunger - This potion gives you an affect much like zombie flesh. It causes the food meter to deplete slowly.
- Potion of Decay - This potion gives the recipient the wither effect.
- Potion of Health Boost - This potion gives the player extra hearts.
- Potion of Absorption - This potion adds absorption health to the player
- Potion of Saturation - This potion causes the food meter to replenish by 0.5 hunger per
How it works
More potions replaces some of the recipes from vanilla Minecraft that are repeated. It is still possible to brew all of the vanilla potions.

Unfortunately not :( You can not add recipes that are not in the game, so I had to override the recipes that are already in the game, but not needed.

Unfortunately since essentials kits are config based, there would be no way to get my potions into a kit. I have some good new though :) I just uploaded a new version of More Potions that adds an optional amount parameter to the end of the /mp give commands so you can spawn in multiple potions at once. The update should be live in a few hours :)

Posted Sep 16, 2013I use Essentials for my kits. And, that would be possible to add a quantity of potions with /mp give ? That could be great, and the quantity in stack if it's possible.

More than likely not, depends how the kit plugin works. Which plugin are you using for kits?

Yeah took me a few weeks and a whole bunch of different methods to come to a solution to that problem too.
Basically what you have to do is wait for the BrewEvent, then check the ingredient at the top and the bottles at the bottom. If that combination is one you want to override, cancel the event and replace the bottles at the bottom with the new potions, and remove one of the ingredients from the ItemStack at the top.

Posted Sep 15, 2013Hey there, great plugin!
As a coder, I'm fascinated by how you manage to make custom brewing from vanilla brewing. I've been trying to do that for weeks!
Why doesn't this plugin have more downloads? :]

Maybe instead of making a permission to limits who makes them, how about making a permission that will limit who can drink/throw/get effected by the potion. So maybe you can have a permission node that is MorePotions.drink.[PotionName]. And if you want to control who gets the splash potion effects you can do MorePotions.splasheffect.[PotionName]. Or you can even make it simple enough that if you drink the potion, if you dont have permission to get the effect, you just wont get the effect. I dont know how hard this would be but its a good way to give permissions. If you want to keep in touch, you can add me on skype, my name is metscatcher35.

Posted Sep 10, 2013Finally, a potion plugin where you can actually CRAFT the potions. And just a suggestion, potions in minecraft are supposed to be made after you find a nether fortress. (Because most potions require nether warts which are located within nether fortresses.) So, I'm suggesting these crafting recipies:
All of these I thought were pretty logical. If you don't like these, could you make the recipies configurable? As of right now I'm getting the plugin. But let me know what you think about these and wether or not you are going to work on configuration. Thanks again, this is a really cool plugin.

Posted Sep 16, 2013Sorry, I didn't see your comment as I am only active on the bukkit page for the plugin.
Unfortunatly I am restricted to the recipes that are already in the game, and I cannot add new recipes. This is a restriction of bukkit and there isn't currently a way around this. In terms of players having to go to the nether to brew the potions though, you still need a blaze rod for the brewing stand :P

Hey, thanks for checking out my plugin! :) The splash potions are brewed just like the vanilla potions, with a gunpowder. Also you can extend the potions with a redstone, and increase the potency with glowstone :) I spent most of today trying to figure out a way to make individual permissions for the different potions, and unfortunately couldn't come up with a solution. The main issues is with hoppers, and how to tell who brewed the potion when the ingredients are fed into the brewing stand through a hopper. :(
