More Mobs
You think the default mobs of Minecraft are boring? Check out this plugin and you will get an adventure! More Mobs is a easy to use plugin to get more mobs into your server.
Installation, Configuration, and Use
Configuration file includes settings for the wraith's soul-reaping setup and also for the percent chances for mob spawning. A new feature in 3.0 is the ability to bind which type of mob a more mob spawns based off of, but that is explained in the configuration itself. The commands are /moremobs and /setWraithHell. /moremobs is used for spawning the moremobs, so for instance /moremobs giant would spawn a giant at the block where you are looking. /setWraithHell allows you to set the location where the victims of wraiths get sent when they die.
Mobs
| Picture | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
![]() | Wraith | This is the wraith. He wanders the overworld, looking for souls to reap. Should he ever hit you with his sickle, your soul will be ripped from your body and you will wake up in "hell" (the nether), or alternatively the world and coordinates of your choice. If your players are wimps and they whine about getting sent to the nether all the time, you can disable soul-reaping in the config file and the wraith will just behave like a regular zombie. The wraith idea came from Thrystor, so credit to him. Also, thanks a lot to Striante, whose PrettyScaryLib provided the code that made the wraith possible! |
![]() | Giant Zombie | This is the Giant Zombie. he's been part of the game code since Alpha, but never actually appeared in game! isn't that a shame. At any rate, he's here now! He can be found anywhere regular zombies spawn, but is much rarer. He has a lot of hearts, but is much friendlier than his smaller zombie cousins and only attacks you if you hit him first. Even when he attacks you, he can't reach down far enough with his arms, so he will just try to step on you! dodge those feet! |
| Giant Slime | You thought those regular large slimes were big, right? Wrong! With MoreMobs, you have a 1/100 chance of a slime spawning HUGE! These monsters have ridiculously high health and are very difficult to kill. Other than being MASSIVE, they behave just like regular Slimes. and the best part? they split into 2-4 smaller slimes when they die! and those split! and those split! WARNING:by the time you manage to entirely kill this thing, your sword might break! | |
| Giant Magma Cube | What's a Giant Slime without some giant lava slimes as well? Yes, ladies and Gentlmen: it's a giant magma cube. All the properties of the giant slime, plus it jumps 10 blocks in the air! | |
| Herobrine Blocks | On dark and stormy nights, the evil Lord Herobrine emerges from his lair... Some nights, when he's feeling particularly evil, he casts spells on blocks and makes them do his bidding. These blocks, now filled with Herobrine's evil spirit, rise out of the ground and begin floating around, looking for players to land upon and suffocate. Most of the time they pick up another block beside them to use as a weapon. A picture doesn't really do this mob justice; In this picture it just looks like a couple floating grass blocks. Let me assure you; it moves, it turns, it attacks.... BEWARE :) | |
| PigChest | This delightful, adorable little creature will carry your items for you. Simply right click a pig with a storage minecart to put the minecart on his back. He'll carry it around for you in a very humorous fashion- it'll wobble around and look for all the world like it's going to slip off, but it never does. He will follow a carrot on a stick, so if you get 2 or 3 of these guys they would make long-distance travel very easy. | |
| Baby Zombie | Tiny and adorable, this little zombie child nevertheless packs a punch attacking. In future versions he will be tamable, like a wolf. |

Planned and ready for the next update, just one bug to fix in the new Herobrine Blocks and then it'll be out.
@homiedion
How do you mean, creating our own mobs? explain more, please :)
individual plugin configuration reloading is easily done and I'll do that in the next update for you. i'm already adding spawn commands, a /moremobs reload command shouldn't be hard.

Posted Jan 2, 2013Really cool plugin though it would be nice to see a way of allowing us to create our own mobs.
That and I'd like to be able to reload the individual plugin with a command.

funnily enough, that's eerily similar to a mob I have planned. It would be pretty cool to have a creeper zombie and a zombie skele and such... good thoughts :)
For those who actually read my comments, I've got a big update in the works, version 2.0. Adds at least two new mobs, a lot of the features people have been asking for, and cleans up the code a good bit. Look out for Herobrine blocks, pig jockey Nether guys, and maybe the wisp! Also, for the more technical-minded folks, commands for spawning all the mobs and a system for making them not spawn in protected regions. You guys have been great support to me, keep posting ideas!
Oh, and the current version has a bug where wraiths don't actually spawn using the spawn eggs. sorry about that, will fix in next update. Thanks a lot, @aidaso2 for finding it and reporting it! if you guys find bugs please do the same!

Posted Jan 1, 2013I have a great idea for a new mob(s). This mob is called the mutant mob. I was watching a video and recently discovered there is a way to to put blocks and other items (like chests) On mobs' heads. So I was wondering.... what if mobs could put on other mobs' head? It would look soooo cool. Thanks for listening to people's ideas.

@AStrongerFellow
Commands are planned. However, if you want to test the current version just set the config spawn chances to 100.
@aidaso2
It worked fine for me testing, so unless i get a couple more people telling me that I don't know what I can do about it. There could be any number of reasons it's not working for you. It could conflict with something, maybe?

Posted Dec 31, 2012So any chance of commands in the future? I would like to see one of these things in my server, before I actually put it in. (Test Server) In addition, think per world support would be possible? It would be great to say have a world of giants, and so forth and such.

Posted Dec 30, 20121.4.6 - R0.2 got promoted to a Beta build, so I uploaded the version I was working on and made it official. No new mobs or changes, but I did change the Wraith's code so he doesn't use any code outside of the Bukkit API, which means this plugin won't break with every new bukkit. Yaaay.
You don't need to update the config file for this one, it should be just fine. I will be uploading version 1.7 sometime soonish, so stay tuned :)

haha, I think the Wraith is everyone's favorite. The problem is creating new mobs is actually really difficult to do. I can do some things, but others are impossible...
I am always actively looking for new, possible ways to make mobs. i've got a couple of ideas, we'll see how they turn out.

Posted Dec 29, 2012I LOVE THE Wraith.. Id Like to see more original mobs like that! They have a special power and a 100% new look!!! The rest I feel like ive seen b4. But the wraith... Wow... I love that it doesn't kill you as its attack technique... It sends you to the nether! Keep up the good work! Maby you should do one with a Snowman body and a zombie head... A FROZEN ZOMBIE! these could be found in snow biomes and they throw snowballs and... hmmm, maby when your in a visual distance of them, it will make a snow igloo appear around you, trapping you in with the snow zombie itself... This zombie thing could be called "FrozenZombie"!!!!!

oh. I misunderstood you :). But I will add a config option for that, it could be annoying for others.
@SirFloofy
Ah... I know why that happens. I can fix. In the meantime if that's a problem, just disable the hellhound.

Any idea why?

Posted Dec 29, 2012Oh no, please don't perma fix. If anything, make a config for it, because it scared the crap out of one of my admins. He had been configuring mob arena on on offline test server. When he came back, and loaded MA, this match was his first match on the server. And it was the first time he saw the wraith. To quote him from a private message:
"i saw this thing, so fricking evil looking. iron chest, pumpkin head, sword, thought it was you messing around,(pants, lol), but it was out to get me. if that's the mob, then good job, scared the hell out of me."
He knew I had been messing around with mobs, but had no idea what it was yet. My post was mostly in reply to TanusW, who said they were not spawnable.
I'd love to see some evil NPC's, similiar in vein to http://citizens.wikia.com/wiki/Evil_NPCs. The way they worked in citizens was they would spawn and attack a player.
What I'm imagining is a similar setup here, but hooking into the http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/protocollib/ extended api.
Chance of mob (zombie?) spawning as an evil npc, with fakepacket to disguise as a player name. I'd really love a customizable comma separated list of names, but Herobrine would do in a pinch.
If that makes any sense.
Bah. I need to learn how to code in java...
Would baby giants be possible? Or giant magma's disguised as creepers, for jumping creepers?

The pigasus is pretty much dead. I might send Dinnerbone another PM, I think he either ignored or didn't see my last one. Until I get a response from him, the Pigasus is dead. which is sad. 90% of the battle with the pigasus is getting the wings. The other 10% shouldn't be bad in comparison. Once I got a pigasus I would most likely create a bunch of other mobs with it - EnderAngel (Enderman with wings), Human wings (as a donation perk or admin trolling), and maybe a flying squid as a hostile mob. Idk. But again, all of this is theoretical because I'm starting to think that while the EnderDragon IS made of 7 different entities, you can't separate them and spawn them in alone.

Ha haha... I know exactly why that happens, and I think it's not too bad of a fix. Here's the deal:
1/100 spiders that spawn is turned into a wraith (or whatever your config option is). This can be anytime- spawner eggs, mob spawners, plugins like mobarena...
so you see the problem. I think I can make it so they only spawn naturally or from spawn eggs. I imagine they would gum up a spider spawner pretty badly, and definitely screw with a mobarena match. I will fix, added to Todo list
