Config
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/config/
(Is partially updated)
You will need to reference craftbukkit enums for drops and block attacking to work, failure to use valid enums could potentially break your plugin. You can find them here:
https://hub.spigotmc.org/javadocs/bukkit/org/bukkit/Material.html
You may want to play with Spawn Points, you can find the info here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/spawn-points/
If you wish to develop your own plugin with my health API, check this page:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/health-api/
For Nightmare Mode, check here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/nightmare-mode/
Need multiple configs?
- Note: This is outdated and may not work.
How to set up multiple installations, for different custom difficulties on multiple worlds:
- Copy the MA jar and rename it.
- Rename the plugin inside plugin.yml of the second copy (within the jar), and remove the commands section.
- Disable registering the /MA command in the second copy's config.
- Double check that you have no world names overlapping between the two configs, and that your bonus and naturalistic spawns are restricted to the right worlds.
You now have two separate installations.

Posted Apr 4, 2012After a few days of trying out many different configurations and not getting the expected results, I think that the naturalistic spawn bonus chances are not working correctly. I've been trying to get a bunch of bonus zombies, with a lesser chance to get other types of monsters. But no matter what combination of monster types I've tried setting to true in the naturalistic bonus spawns area, then setting their chances to add up to 100, it seems to always pick the first one alphabetically and then just spawn those. So when I had endermen, spiders, and skeletons at 5% each, and zombies at 85%, all I got were endermen. Same when I tried ghasts (1%) and pigzombies (5%) and zombies (94%)- I got just ghasts. Same with pigmen (many different percentages all the way down to 1%) and zombies- I get just pigzombies.
For now I am working around the issue by setting the zombie spawn count to 10, but that is not ideal because in some situations, like in chasms, 10 zombies will spawn on a single block ledge and not spread out like they would do otherwise.
I love this plugin though, it's made the game a lot more fun for myself and my players. We are really loving the extra challenge when there are enough monsters to make going outside at night actually dangerous.

1.2.4 broke mega-aggro for Zombies and Skeletons. You can use PigZombies for the same effects as before with Zombies.
@Zombiemold
Mega-aggro, as well as spawn rates could cause this. All nodes are tested and known to run fine under stable configs.
@Piginabag
Add the world name to your world name list in the config.
@deleted_13516
I'll definately include baby detection with the next version (if there is one).
@Waterdust2000
Basically a global flag for messing with normal spawns. Left false, mobs will spawn as normal from all other sources including natural spawns. As to the item drops, not really sure what's going on there. I can find no reason for it within the bukkit source, but it's been very bad since 1.2.4. However, if you use another plugin that works for this to set drops for mobs, it should be compatible with MA (drop manager disabled).

Posted Apr 4, 2012I checked the Enumerator list you gave me, the names are the same.
ENDER_PEARL = ENDER_PEARL <Example
Console still swears things like this are broken. It's not the only item either. 16 Mobs in total from my list have "errors" according to the plugin.
Are we going to get an explanation on what each line in config really means? along with what values are possible for said fields. I'm sure the # for notes will allow this somewhere at the bottom.
If not you perhaps someone you know could write the notes? That last bit I saw about "enable spawn changes" wasn't exactly obvious to me. I figured it meant "enable all these settings you've made changes to?"

@blaincus re: baby animals / enable spawning changes...
In your SpawnListener class, could you split the 'if (plugin.changespawning) {' block into 2 seperate blocks to allow animals to be configured separately? This would allow people to mess with monster spawning (which is probably the majority of users), while retaining normal animal spawns and baby animals...

Posted Apr 3, 2012Getting epic, unbearable lag with MonsterApocalypse. Might have to do with my settings because it didn't lag with a default config that I am aware of.

Posted Apr 2, 2012We have this awesome cityworld apocalypse on the server, its been working great for a couple of months - lots of aggro mobs, ghasts between the skyscrapers, zombies breaking all kinds of walls and glass to get to you etc. But 7.0 update just completely broke it. Now its lame, hardly any monsters. Even tried rebuilding config from scratch - and changing the new parameters on/off, not much is helping. It reports loading fine etc. Whats going on? Some ideas on what to look for would be great.

Works with everything but skeletons, zombies, and endermen. Prior to 1.2, it worked on everything but endermen.

That would only be a bukkit bug. The mobs are probably leaving behind dummies clientside, they're not real.
@nhoclesnar
Enable spawning changes?: false
Or else all baby animals will be full grown.
You do not need this option enabled to use naturalistic or bonus spawns.
@Waterdust2000
Bukkit enums have changed recently, but it should work if you use the right ones. Upper/lower case matters. Here is where you can find the list:
http://jd.bukkit.org/doxygen/d7/dd9/namespaceorg_1_1bukkit.html#ab7fa290bb19b9a830362aa88028ec80a
@grevinelveck
Mass-aggro works by spawning silverfish temporarily and removing them in the same tick, using them as markers for the mob to move toward. 1.2.4 broke this functionality for only skeletons and zombies (it never worked on Endermen). If you NEED this functionality, I suggest using minecraft 1.1, as the new AI has been hardcoded in with no workaround. You could also try pigzombies.
@Perfk
No, however the despawn time on monsters is roughly 5 minutes, so you can work off that to find the average mob count at once when left alone with many different settings. In this case, you would simply change your period to 5 minutes. Basically, it would be too process intensive to be worth the addition.
@Elite_X
It's run from config only, with the exception of spawn points.

Posted Apr 1, 2012is it it posible to control how many monsters that are alive from a spawn point?
/ma addspawnpoint zombies Zombie 10 1 0 15 100 <- this will spawn 1 zombie evry 10 sec.
i only want it to spawn a zombie if the spawned zombie is dead. so that there is never more than 1 spawned zombie from this spawnpoint
can this be done?

Posted Apr 1, 2012No errors, but a lot of stuff doesn't seem to be working right with the config. Mega aggro doesn't seem to work at all for me. The zombies sometimes break blocks, sometimes do nothing and deaggro walk off. Using nothing but essentials and this plugin and have wiped my config file a couple times starting over, but very little seems to work properly for me.

Posted Apr 1, 2012I'm having an odd problem. The only mobs reacting to massive aggro are the spiders currently and I cannot figure out why. Also I get massive amounts of silverfish that spawn and vanish but I don't have silverfish set to any kind of bonus or natural spawn. All my other settings are doing exactly what I want them too. I'm using magic bookshelf, MCMMO, premitionsbukkit, creeperheal, commandbook, world guard, world edit, cookme, minecraftbot, minecart revolution, no cheat, spectate, and travelpad. Amy help would be appreciated.

Posted Apr 1, 2012I really like this plugin, However I feel there isn't enough explanation to somethings going on in the config file. What happens if I change this? what are the allowed options for this setting? Points where terminology might go over ones head without any attempt to explain what'll occur if this/that is touched.
I also at first had no idea how to get the desired settings to just unleash "hell on earth" an had to just take risks with the config file until I started to get somewhere.
At this point I'm trying to customize the drops for all said mobs in the list but I keep getting a spam list of errors about it failing to add drop to drop list for x-mobs. I will add that I tried using the item numbers first an then switched to item names in _ format. This changed nothing for me even when I tried using the overwrite command I expected would just force it to accept my choices?
Was there some sort of item limit per mob? If so why was this never made clear/clearer? I think the things that appear obvious or apparent to the author needs to be taken into consideration that others might not "get it" even with considerable pc skill/knowledge.
How do I fix my issue? is it a bug? where do I go from here? IRC has no idea how to potentially aid me an infact not a single soul has heard of this plugin I've talked to over there. Maybe its just the #bukkit channel but I couldn't find a channel for this author or the plugin either, nor did anyone know where it could be found.
Great plugin concept, perhaps rushed a little? leaves so many unanswered questions/issues. Please help? Config File Here
