Config
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/config/
(Is partially updated)
You will need to reference craftbukkit enums for drops and block attacking to work, failure to use valid enums could potentially break your plugin. You can find them here:
https://hub.spigotmc.org/javadocs/bukkit/org/bukkit/Material.html
You may want to play with Spawn Points, you can find the info here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/spawn-points/
If you wish to develop your own plugin with my health API, check this page:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/health-api/
For Nightmare Mode, check here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/nightmare-mode/
Need multiple configs?
- Note: This is outdated and may not work.
How to set up multiple installations, for different custom difficulties on multiple worlds:
- Copy the MA jar and rename it.
- Rename the plugin inside plugin.yml of the second copy (within the jar), and remove the commands section.
- Disable registering the /MA command in the second copy's config.
- Double check that you have no world names overlapping between the two configs, and that your bonus and naturalistic spawns are restricted to the right worlds.
You now have two separate installations.

Posted Apr 18, 2012So I'm putting together a pretty sick and awesome server (and I'm sure everyone says this) however it's the truth here ^_^. I have a few questions about mob properties, and maybe you could help. (Either the Dev or anyone else that sees this) (and possibly add a sample config :))
Q1(more like subject 1) Zombies. I know I brought this up in the comment thread. Instead of struggling with something I don't understand, usually I get a basic rosetta stone of code, or a small tutorial on how to do something (like photoshop tutorials on youtube :P) and run with it.
Different health in different zones, or areas. Minecraft map
Example, I want zombies to be inside of the right zone BUT not inside the smaller area INSIDE the right zone. Does that make sense? :) Is it possible to have stronger zombies in a different area -> like 10hp zombies in the right zone, 20hp zombies in the middle zone, and 30hp zombies in the left zone? If possible, how does one go about doing it? What would the config look like? You spoke about spawnpoints, if this is a option, again, if I could ask you for what the config would look like, that would be greatly appreciated :)

Monster pathing is too unreliable to be run through a percentage check. And no, I'm not merging or changing theme to bloodmoon. (Even if i wanted to this setting would be useless and take a long time to include).

Posted Apr 16, 2012Can you add a few settings. - Add a setting so that monsters only break torches according to a percentage value - Add a setting so that mobs only behave this plugin at night, or a percentage chance of happening at night. (sort of like bloodmoon)

Posted Apr 16, 2012Solved my problems with using a regular /reload, then use PlugMan to manually reload plugins that break :) All good.
Also solved the slowdowns by removing NoLaggChunks (???). Wasn't really needed anyway.

See the Zombie config for an example. Drops are broken, pending a fix in the next version. Mega-aggro does not applu to zombies, skeletons, or endermen. (1.2 broke zombies/skeletons)

We never use /reload, since it messes up the whole server. When we need to do something on the fly, we use PlugMan to reload a plugin. But this MA doesn't seem to reload the config and just use the one it has in memory?
Sorry I'm not an expert. But maybe you could take a look at PlugMan?
Thanks for this great plugin! It brings so much pleasure.

This has been suggested before and I have no intention to do so for a vast number of reasons.

A normal full reload (/reload) should work fine. For performance, I suggest not using mega-aggro unless absolutely necessary.
@LHammonds
As to your spawning problems, I suggest using the default config as a starting point rather than the Zombie one. I haven't tested it in a while.
The folder names will have no effect.
I recommend using Wordpad for editing the config rather than anything fancy.
Drops are a known bug which has been fixed for the next version (pending 1-2 more changes).

Posted Apr 13, 2012Thanks for creating and sharing this mod. It looks like a lot of fun.
I "think" there is a spawning bug in version 7.1 on a CraftBukkit 1.2.5-R1.0 server (Ubuntu Server 10.04, 64-bit, Java 6, 64-bit). I created a brand new "world" with only this plugin installed (using the Zombie Land config file). When we started the world (seed = minecraft), there were cows, pigs, chicken and ocelots. However, there were no hostile mobs. After the 1st paranoid night, we thought we got off lucky or was given a grace period to bone-up our defenses. But night after night, we did not see any mobs except from spawners in cave systems.
I looked up how to create manual spawns using the ma command and was able to get several spawn locations with various mobs. But discovering a giant cave or cavern with no monsters anywhere to be found makes me think the vanilla spawning system is being disabled.
I used the config file called ZombieLand which is posted in the description. I have also double-checked the settings and everything "seems" right but I am not sure what is going on. I am wondering if this has something to do with this mod being installed BEFORE the world is generated.
Something else that I noticed and thought it odd (compared to how all the other plugins operate), the jar filename is "MonsterApocalypse.jar" but when it auto-creates the sub-folder to hold the config files, it creates a folder with a space in the name rather than matching the file name. Example: "Monster Apocalypse" Does this have any impact on the operation of the plugin? I would have thought it would create a "MonsterApocalypse" sub-folder. I left it as it is though.
Also, when editing the config file with the VI editor, it color-codes lines and values. It did not know how to handle the following line which had a comma in the key name...could that be a problem with the parser?
I also saw the drop errors on the console for skeleton, zombie and cavespider. I edited the config to remove the drops (made them look just like the blaze section)
Thanks, LHammonds

Posted Apr 13, 2012With all the tweaking and editing you can do with this plugin, a reload command would really be useful.
EDIT: Also, I'm having some trouble with this plugin after ~2-3 hours, making the servers TPS bounce back and forth until a complete freeze.
Been trying to balance it out with MobAge, and even disabled many of the major plugins we run.
Anyone else experienced this? I'll do some serious testing today and report back.
Love... Love this plugin! I need it to work :D
