Welcome to the ultimate monster hell. I have brought together everything anyone everyone could ever want to do with monsters into one completely hellbent plugin. Use at your own risk.
Warning - Zombie digging is destructive, if you turn it on and configure it, please backup your worlds.
Plugin has been thoroughly tested as working properly, if you have trouble please report it so I can make it work for a wider range of setups!
PLEASE USE CRAFTBUKKIT 1.11 (R1) for version 19.6. Only Spigot supports this build. No other builds will work with this version.

Config
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/config/
(Is partially updated)
You will need to reference craftbukkit enums for drops and block attacking to work, failure to use valid enums could potentially break your plugin. You can find them here:
https://hub.spigotmc.org/javadocs/bukkit/org/bukkit/Material.html
You may want to play with Spawn Points, you can find the info here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/spawn-points/
If you wish to develop your own plugin with my health API, check this page:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/health-api/
For Nightmare Mode, check here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/nightmare-mode/
Need multiple configs?
- Note: This is outdated and may not work.
How to set up multiple installations, for different custom difficulties on multiple worlds:
- Copy the MA jar and rename it.
- Rename the plugin inside plugin.yml of the second copy (within the jar), and remove the commands section.
- Disable registering the /MA command in the second copy's config.
- Double check that you have no world names overlapping between the two configs, and that your bonus and naturalistic spawns are restricted to the right worlds.
You now have two separate installations.

Posted May 26, 2012Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to implement some sort of thing where Minecraft plays normally until the apocalypse is "activated" by an ingame command? I'm hoping to make it so there's a button that, when pressed, starts this monster apocalypse and possibly a second button that ends it. Is this something that could be added? Thanks.

Do not agree, but i understand, the best would be to let the admins choose. To be able to spawn without a player near or without, if this is a bug i love it, because back in the day i made traps but then the mobs never spawned, unless a player went there.

Posted May 25, 2012For some reason this is not working, there are no errors on startup or anything. I tried setting it to always night and I restarted the server but it didn't work. I use McMyAdmin for anyone wondering.

Posted May 24, 2012LOVE IT.. is there away to only have the spawnpoint spawn the mobs if there is a player around it.. Seems that if no one is online/close to the spawnpoint the plugin keeps spawning. I log back in later and i have TONS of mobs!! lol
Thoughts?

If you could also release the source too so people can make contributions or self-bug-fix that would be lovely.

If you could vote on that, that'd be cool. I'm working to get it noticed by devs so you can get aggro working again. :)
My Spiders aren't burning up in day for some reason, I've enabled the all monster properties setting and my file passes YAML. I also don't see Creepers and Endermen being affected by mega-aggro. If possible, a per-monster setting for it would be cool as well.

As far as I can tell, MA largely doesn't work as it was originally intended to after the AI changes from recent patches. I don't work with the developer of this plugin or anything but it seems like most of the features don't work for zombies, skeletons, and pig zombies anymore. Spiders can still use mega aggro range and all aggressive mobs can still knock down torches, but that's pretty much it as far as AI control is concerned.
Custom spawns, custom mob stats, and naturalistic bonus spawns all seem to work as well.

Oh dang, I appreciate the heads up on that plugin, it looks great but I'm also running heroes on my server! Curses!
A Custom interface, you say? That sounds interesting!

O.o
You don't have a default, base-level /ma command scripted to explain/remind people about the commands?
That's... unique.

I'm not certain, but Mobs! may do that for you. I can't use it because I'm also running Heroes.
If Monster Apocalypse had a limit-per-spawner option, my server would be on the next level. It already kind of is thanks to a completely custom interface for Heroes.

Posted May 22, 2012So first of all, great plugin, it's been really fun messing around with it to help make my server a little more interesting!
Question though, is there a way to set a limit on the maximum number of monsters that can spawn from a spawn point set up through MA? I like the idea that I can create my own dungeons using these spawn points but I'm terrified that they will continually spawn and flood the server even if they're at a low percentage!
If this can't be done now, it'd be a great feature to have in the future :)

Posted May 22, 2012I've tried this on two different servers and I can't get a working config file. If I change more than one thing from false to true i get this:
23:22:08 CONSOLE: [SEVERE] Cannot load plugins\Monster Apocalypse\config.yml 23:22:08 CONSOLE: values are not allowed here 23:22:08 CONSOLE: "<string>", line 3, column 40: 23:22:08 CONSOLE: ^ 23:22:08 CONSOLE: ... night: trueUse new event system?: true 23:22:08 CONSOLE: mapping values are not allowed here 23:22:08 CONSOLE: "<string>", line 3, column 40: 23:22:08 CONSOLE: ... night: trueUse new event system?: true 23:22:08 CONSOLE: ^
Then I have to delete the config file and restart the server and that creates a new config file that is apparently, alright. Then I change one thing and it throws errors at me again.
