Welcome to the ultimate monster hell. I have brought together everything anyone everyone could ever want to do with monsters into one completely hellbent plugin. Use at your own risk.
Warning - Zombie digging is destructive, if you turn it on and configure it, please backup your worlds.
Plugin has been thoroughly tested as working properly, if you have trouble please report it so I can make it work for a wider range of setups!
PLEASE USE CRAFTBUKKIT 1.11 (R1) for version 19.6. Only Spigot supports this build. No other builds will work with this version.

Config
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/config/
(Is partially updated)
You will need to reference craftbukkit enums for drops and block attacking to work, failure to use valid enums could potentially break your plugin. You can find them here:
https://hub.spigotmc.org/javadocs/bukkit/org/bukkit/Material.html
You may want to play with Spawn Points, you can find the info here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/spawn-points/
If you wish to develop your own plugin with my health API, check this page:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/health-api/
For Nightmare Mode, check here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/nightmare-mode/
Need multiple configs?
- Note: This is outdated and may not work.
How to set up multiple installations, for different custom difficulties on multiple worlds:
- Copy the MA jar and rename it.
- Rename the plugin inside plugin.yml of the second copy (within the jar), and remove the commands section.
- Disable registering the /MA command in the second copy's config.
- Double check that you have no world names overlapping between the two configs, and that your bonus and naturalistic spawns are restricted to the right worlds.
You now have two separate installations.

Posted Feb 1, 2012So how exactly do you increase monster spawns by 10x globally? Don't see any option to do this in config.

How about giants and dragons then ?, slimes are already in the config and wolves, Monsters I don't think would ever get removed they are the entity that NPC plugins use for npc's as they are essentially the player chr model with ai like zombie.
I still think that for the time they exist in code they should get added at a later date when they do cause issues or get removed from MC code it would be easy to just remove the depreciated entity code and re build.
But that is just my opinion Id settle for at least dragon we know thats not going anywhere and I could use this along with spawnpoints to make dragons appear in the end so we have more than 1 dragon boss and to reset the end :).

I'll need the rest of the error message. It's possible you're just getting the event message.

Posted Feb 1, 2012Just a quick note, I have decided to stop responding to posts (in both the thread and the dev page) which have been addressed already, or are easy to figure out on your own.
As a status update, a new major version is NOT in the works yet, as there are not enough potentially good features to add. One known bug is skeleton damage (bukkit bug, not fixable), and a minor warning regarding the new event system. (Does nothing but print an error).
@cind3r69
It runs get.Server().getWorld(worldname) for each world in the list, if one isn't found the plugin is disabled.
@Undectectable
This is a client/server disagreement about the positions of mobs and is not unique to this plugin. You will see this with a large number of vanilla mobs too.
@ledhead900
Other than Giants, there are a lot of potentially plugin-breaking bugs with deprecated mobs. Even though I could get them working, they would likely break the plugin eventually. In the case of wolves and slimes, there's a lot of complicated state handling which would take a lot of coding and reflection to fix.
@imailyou
All the commands are listed here. http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/spawn-points/

Would you consider adding them ?, I mean this has become the source of mob control on our server other than the Ecocreature plugin that I used for mob drops and economy for mob kills.
I would very much like to gain natural spawning giants and NPC like mobs.
@radarwolf
Try Adjusting see if you can get something you like. "death spawn chance: 1.0" or "death spawn chance: 0.0" & "death spawn count: 1"
or you could have just disabled "spawn new mob on death: true"

Posted Jan 31, 2012Just wondering sometimes it seems mobs are pushing through blocks. Like they push through a wall then jump back. Is that a side effect of this mod? Thanks
The dont actually break the wall btw

Posted Jan 31, 2012Hey guys.
This plugin seems like the right fit for use with a great map generator called CityWorld.
I've read this whole thread. It seems this message is a common issue. (no mentions of attempts to use it with CityWorld however) I'm running into the "Monster Apocalypse: Invalid world name CityWorld. Plugin disabled." error.
I would expect its checking the name via the folders that exist in the main minecraft directory. I have doublechecked the director and the name and capitalizationa are correct. I have also tried creating a symlink called cityworld, as well as world_city without resolve. Here is the portion of the config file related to the name of the World :
" Worlds: - CityWorld Always night: false Enable natural hostile spawns?: true Enable natural passive spawns?: true Enable spawn points?: true Enable bonus spawns?: true Enable naturalistic bonus spawns?: true Hard cap on all mobs spawning: 1000000 Only enable bonus spawns on one selected world?: true Bonus spawn world name: world Only enable naturalistic bonus spawns on one selected world?: true Naturalistic bonus spawn world name: CityWorld Enable worldguard spawn flag checks?: false Spawn individual wave mobs in the same spot?: false Enable bonus spawns midair? (Useful for Ghasts): false "
Additionally in my server log, the plugin for CityWorld loads before Monster Apoclypse. If I change the "Worlds" field to be "world" then it works on my main world, but I only want it enabled on the map called "CityWorld" . What I would like to know is, how does Monster Apoclypse determine if a worldname is invalid? where does it check the worldname? what is it looking for? If I have the answers to these questions I can probably hack a soltuion together. thanks.

Natural mobs are restricted to a very pathetic hard cap, hence why I coded naturealistic spawns. I suggest you turn those on with the default settings and turn off natural hostile spawns. You should see a lot less interference with natural spawns when using spawnpoints this way.

Posted Jan 30, 2012oh thanks duh. One more issue. It seems after a while mob stop spawning Im not using the plugin spawn rate just the normal one. I did add a few spawn points but like my players can go quite a few nights with out seeing any mobs mega ago is on here is my config. I dont have any spawn limits on.

Posted Jan 30, 2012Can you make a sub-option for the following option:
I really like a option so the mob won't spawn directly after killing it. Becuase now you have like: kill zombie -> new zombie!!!! ahhhhhh shit i died.
Make it like spawn after some seconds and/or at a other position.

Sets a maximum number of monsters to be allowed on a server. The default value of one million should be impossible to reach, this is a utility setting for people who want high spawn speed, but don't want it to crash their server.
@FiddyCraft
You aren't using the right craftbukkit enum. Use 'WEB'.
