Welcome to the ultimate monster hell. I have brought together everything anyone everyone could ever want to do with monsters into one completely hellbent plugin. Use at your own risk.
Warning - Zombie digging is destructive, if you turn it on and configure it, please backup your worlds.
Plugin has been thoroughly tested as working properly, if you have trouble please report it so I can make it work for a wider range of setups!
PLEASE USE CRAFTBUKKIT 1.11 (R1) for version 19.6. Only Spigot supports this build. No other builds will work with this version.

You will need to reference craftbukkit enums for drops and block attacking to work, failure to use valid enums could potentially break your plugin. You can find them here:

Need multiple configs?
- Note: This is outdated and may not work.
How to set up multiple installations, for different custom difficulties on multiple worlds:
- Copy the MA jar and rename it.
- Rename the plugin inside plugin.yml of the second copy (within the jar), and remove the commands section.
- Disable registering the /MA command in the second copy's config.
- Double check that you have no world names overlapping between the two configs, and that your bonus and naturalistic spawns are restricted to the right worlds.
You now have two separate installations.

Posted Feb 10, 2013I have giants set to spawn very rarely in my world, so i added a few custom drop to them, the problem is when i have the server load i sometimes get this message:
[INFO] Monster Apocalypse: Error adding drop to drop list of Giant, check your drops for errors.
The message is random, i can't make figure it out, sometimes it doesn't show the message, other time it will display 2 time or more and for the most part it just displays once. If anyone has experienced this before or knows what is causing it please help.
This is the drop section for my giants:

I think those are the ones I see in the config I am using which is pretty much exactly the one posted above for the Zombie config.

Posted Feb 9, 2013Improved mega-aggro stop distance. When set to zero, mobs will lunge at players. VERY useful for Action RPG mode.
Where is this setting? I cant find it in the config...

Posted Feb 9, 2013I'm trying to make a zombie drop orange dye, however, whatever item name I use, it doesn't recognise it... I've tried INK_SACK_ORANGE ORANGE_INK_SACK DYE_ORANGE ORANGE_DYE etc, and the bukkit enum list doesn't help at all. Just tells me enum for an ink sac...

Posted Feb 9, 2013Hey blain, seems like any updated plugin from v11 seems to break, with no hope of fixing. Even when i edit simple numbers on the default generated config. Any ideas?
I used the default config, only changed mob health and damage, so no need to add my config.
Any verdict on possible errors?

Monster apocalypse doesn't support potions or enchantments, i recommend using Eco Creature.

Please post the entire config, the naturalistic spawns seems fine. the World name and rest of the config matters.

Posted Feb 8, 2013I have a neat little suggestion, under advanced properties, perhaps you could define potion effects and duration
for when a mob hits you.
Just a fun little idea. I think applying such effects as slowness to zombies will make them even more feared >:D

Posted Feb 7, 2013blainicus what we're referring too when we say an insnae ammount of mobs spawning is that if you set a spawn point such as
/ma addspawnpoint monster1 giant 300 1 0 10 100
to try and get a giant to spawn in an area once every 5 minutes there is nothing that will ever stop that spawner from going off, and nothing will ever cause those giants to despawn if not killed, so if no one happens to go near those spawn points for say 2 hours that one spawn point now has 24 giants stacked on top of it. so if you have a set up like i do,. where you have 250 spawn points across an entire zone and then no one goes to that zone for a full day, when someone goes back to that zone it crashes your server cause thousands of mobs are there. If you could maybe make spawn point behave like spawners where you can configure the max number of mobs spawned from that point at a time (not how many it spawns, but the max number that it can have active. aka you tell it to spawn 2 set it's max to 4 on a 2 minute timer, first time it spawns two, two minutes later it spawns two, twominutes later it does nothing cause it's max is already out there.) That would fix the problems were having.

you need bukkit enums, not item ID's or Hex's.
use WOODEN_DOOR or WOOD_DOOR, can't remember mine.
careful using wrong ones, it can break the config.

Thanks for the post, seems very informative. It's not entirely necessary (mob spawns are NOT BROKEN), but could be useful in some cases.

Posted Feb 5, 2013Insane Amounts Of Mobs Spawning
For everyone with the mob limit problems, such as mobs spawning insane amounts, even when the player is 10000000 blocks away. I also had this problem when I first got the plugin, And I saw no way to fix this other then this.
How To Control Your Mob Spawns
1. Install Mobage v2.4 for CB 1.2.4-R1.0 - I have this installed, And works on 1.4.7.

What this Plugin Does
1. Will control a configurable block distance from the character at which the MonsterApocalypse Spawns will start to spawn at. (This will Fix them spawning from infinite distances.)
2. Control When a mob will DeSpawn on a configurable time limit of no interaction with a player.(The default of this 45, which will cause them do die instantly, You will need to change this to a reasonable 2300 with /mobage age_limit 2300 or change it in the config. More info is on the plugin pages.)
3. Control How many mobs can be spawned inside the configured active radius.
With out this plugin, I saw no other way to control it, And I know it will fix it for you too. It is very simple with only a handful of commands, there is no need to open the config all the commands can change it instantly. But of course you could manually edit it too.

Can you clarify the multiple configs? I had it all working before 11.0, and then it all broke because of configs.yml.
