MobMaster

About MobMaster
MobMaster is a plugin that brings monster spawning to a whole new level. Minecraft's vanilla /summon command is difficult to use, and most general use plugins don't take monster spawning any further than a type and amount. MobMaster is a plugin focused specifically on spawning monsters. Whether you're building a fiendishly difficult dungeon, or using your admin powers to drop mobs on unwitting players, this plugin will make your life easier.
This plugin is designed to be "low floor, high ceiling" - that is, basic usage is as simple as can be, but the plugin has a lot of growing room if you need it to perform more and more complex tasks (like spawning fire breathing chickens with hundreds of hit points, or combustible pigs that explode on death). For basic everyday use, this can function almost identically to the /spawnmob command out of CommandBook with some improvements. When you need it to, however, MobMaster is more than happy to crank out mob spawning commands that can be so long that you can't actually enter them in the in-game chat box.
Specifically, MobMaster is a re-write of a plugin called LethalMobs that I wrote during my tenure on a server called BattleCraft (which is long since dead and buried). Back in those days on that server, it was customary for admins to host an event called a "Horde", during which all players on the server would congregate in an arena and try to endure nearly a half-hour of the admin on duty trying to kill them with spawned monsters. Eventually, I decided that standard mobs just weren't cutting it for difficulty, and thus was this plugin concept born.
Commands
MobMaster's command structure is frighteningly intuitive and forgiving - actually, there really isn't any. Click on a command to go to its details page.
/mobspawn <type>[:tag] <amount> [flags...]
/mobkill [flags...]
Permissions
MobMaster doesn't fiddle around with permissions. Either you're an admin and you have permission to be using this plugin, or you don't. Players with the permission node mobmaster.use (defaults to OPs) will be able to use the features of MobMaster. Those without will not.
PluginMetrics

This plugin includes MCStats support, which sends details about your server specs and plugin details to a stat collection system, in order to generate visual graphs depicting the plugin's popularity. If this gives you the spooks, you can disable stat collection by editing the PluginMetrics config at plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml, or by editing this plugins config at plugins/MobMaster/config.yml.
Automatic Updating
This plugin features an automatic updater, in full compliance with Bukkit policy, which will contact the BukkitDev servers to check for and download updates automatically. If this gives you the spooks, you can disable automatic updating by editing the Updater config at plugins/Updater/config.yml, or by editing this plugins config at plugins/MobMaster/config.yml.

Because the mob death explosions aren't actually handled as entity explosions, I don't think doMobGriefing will catch them, and neither will the WorldGuard settings for TNT or Creeper explosions. Instead, look for the configuration setting
block-other-explosions.-

Posted Apr 16, 2014Catprowler, a simple way to solve the mobs damaging your world (Should) be as simple as
/gamerule doMobGriefing false
Let me know if this helps =]

Posted Apr 14, 2014Hi there, I have bukkit 1.7.5 and I get errors when I use the v1.1 and it will disable the plugin, but when I use the v1.0.1 it works? I really love your idea about the chickens shooting fire and would love to add that to my arena, but will that work with the v.1.0.1 version, because I added the s:smallfireball,5 and nothing happened? I have worldguard on my server and for some reason the chickens that blow up can still do block damage. Do you have any suggestions how I can prevent block damage with the new mobs and is there a way to have them respawn in the same spot after a certain time frame. I am not always in that arena to respawn them? Thank you.

Posted Mar 16, 2014I can get everything to work but the shooter command. I loved the idea of a chicken that shoots fire and explodes on death on my hard core server. What would the command be to get it to do that. 3 of us tried and still cant figure it out. Thanks for your cool plugin!

Posted Mar 13, 2014Hi, thanks for the great mod. I have a request, don't know if it's do-able, but it's something I've been looking for for a long time.. Id like to have a mob spawning command that can be placed on a X-Y-Z location that would spawn an explosion of a set amount of random(type) of monster each night. We have alot of fun with this mod already on my server, but nobody knows how it works, and nobody has a clue that I'm actually the one spawning the creatures.. (they think it's just a random occurance) I'd love to have it to where it actually IS random and I don't even know what's coming. 500 skellies outside the castle always makes everyone freak out. Except me :/ because I know what is coming, and when im not on, it doesn't happen. I would Greatly appreciate an X-Y-Z command that spawns randomly. Just an idea, and im sure everyone would have a good time with it. Even the Ops. Thanks.

Yes, once enough additional features have been added for a proper new release.
@datmc
I plan to add the ability to attach mob flags to monster spawners, so that all mobs spawned by that spawner have those flags applied to them. I probably won't try to re-implement my own spawners, I'll use Minecraft's native spawners.

Posted Mar 9, 2014Hello, very nice plugin. But I do not think this was addressed in the plugin description: Does this feature automatic mob spawning in an area when a player comes into a certain radius of the "spawner"(Spawner being the command)? If not, can you please consider this? Would be an amazing plugin for RP Servers! :)

Use the target flag: t:x,y,z to spawn mobs at a specific location.

Posted Mar 8, 2014this plugin looks great, you really did a good job, but could you maybe make like a 1.6.4 version? im using mcpc for my pixelmon server, and this would be great for my daily mob arena.
