MobHealth
MobHealth
Simple damage reporting. When you hit a mob, MobHealth tells you how much damage you did and how much health it has left: in chat, on the action bar, on the mob's name tag, as a boss bar, as a floating damage number, or as a health bar hovering over the mob. Any combination, and nothing for players to install.
MobHealth 11 is the classic plugin rebuilt around the NeoForge version's feature set, and it runs on every server line from Beta 1.7.3 to 26.3. Pick the file for your server:
+bukkit1.13-26.3: Spigot and Paper, 1.13 through 26.3+bukkit1.8-1.12: 1.8 through 1.12.2+bukkit1.7: CraftBukkit / Spigot 1.7.2 through 1.7.10+beta1.7.3: Beta 1.7.3 (CraftBukkit #1060, Poseidon, UberBukkit, Canyon)
Display modes
| Mode | Needs |
|---|---|
Chat: Zombie [||||||||||] 14/20 (-6) |
any server |
| Action bar: the same readout above the hotbar | 1.8+ |
| Nameplate: a coloured bar on the mob's name tag | 1.7+ |
| Boss bar: the widget at the top of the screen | 1.9+ |
| Damage indicators: red numbers that pop off the mob and rise | 1.8+ |
| Graphical: a floating bar riding above the mob | 1.19.4+ |
Bars go green → yellow → red as health drops. MobHealth says at startup which enabled modes your server cannot show, so nothing fails quietly.
Options
- Show for hostile, neutral and passive mobs, players and bosses separately, with per-mob
overrides (
minecraft:villager=false). - Only the attacker sees it, or everyone nearby.
- Bar length, glyphs, numbers as
14/20or70%, how long bars linger, how long after a kill. /mobhealth togglelets each player mute it;mobhealth.seelets you hide it from a rank.- The config has the same keys as the NeoForge mod, so one set of docs covers both.
Commands and permissions
/mobhealth reload (mobhealth.reload, op) · /mobhealth toggle [on|off] [player]
(mobhealth.toggle, everyone; mobhealth.toggle.others, op) · mobhealth.see (everyone)

Yeah - there is a bukkit bug - they they refuse to fix it.
The name of a villager is used in the title of the GUI window for trading. However the custom name for villagers allows names longer than 32.
Bukkit could trim the name at 32 - but instead triggers that exception. MobHealth detects right clicks on villagers and trims the name to remove the bar.
You could add villagers to the list of excluded mobs (along with horses that suffer the same bug). I'm not sure why my workaround has stopped working for 1.7.9 but i'll investigate.

Posted May 12, 2014I updated to the newest Development build of Bukkit for 1.7.9 (#3078), and noticed that if I have a hurt villager (the bars are above his head) I'm not able to trade with that villager anymore, it usually causes me to lose connection with the server and gives a string was to long error.
Bukkit team do not feel this is there bug to fix, as they closed my bug.
I also noticed that if I remove your plugin for testing the hurt villagers still have the health bar on it.
I'm not sure where the issue exactly is, but thought I'd let you know about it.
I had to do a villager cleansing and get new villagers without the health bar above them to be able to trade again.

The too dark spider bar is a spout think - it dims based on distance i think. I have zero control over how the client renders the bar.
As for the shrinking zombie bar - that looks like fire damage causing it. Does it happen every time you set fire to a mob?

I have wondered about this.
If your Permissions plugin supports per world settings then you can use the mobhealth.show on the appropriate worlds - and turn on perms.
I'll work on a way to set world limits in the config for next version.

MobHealth doesn't require spout either, - its optional for the "Achievement" style notice and the floating up RPG style notice.
HealthBars and damage notices work fine without spout.
Showing damage as a custom tag instead of a bar is an interesting idea tho. If people want an option to show that instead of healthbars let me know!
UPDATE Ahh I see how holograms does it now. Its using NSM code so needs updating each minecraft build, and i've promised myself to keep MobHealth to using only the bukkit API. BUT i'll have a talk to holograms people - as MH has a cool way of getting real damage done and an API so i'll see if they want to connect up and make us both + + awesome.

Its the healthbars that do that - set showPlayerHeadHealth to false to stop it messing with scoreboards.
I'll see why in the meantime - I'm not sure why it would scrub the inbuilt scoreboards

If campaign modifies mob's health and damage and names is a bukkit friendly way then it should work out of the box - and most plugins have stepped into line on this (inc Heroes).
Let me know what isnt working and i'll be sure to look into it.
@predawnia
Ditto for LeveledMobs - it should just work - if not let me know what bit fails.

To clarify. There are no permissions nodes for the health bars, so "ALL players will have a healthbar that ALL players will be able to see". You can also replace "players" with "living entities" monsters get it too. These healthbars hack the NameTag and scoreboard systems to put in a bar so spout is not needed - just 'nilla MC. The flaw of this is that I have no control over the client side to set permissions for visibility. It might be possible with clever scoreboard code - but MobHealth is mostly meant to be about seeing damage notifications - healthbars was just an obvious extra feature!.
You can disable healthbars for monsters, animals and/or players. But everyone can always see the bar if they are close enough to view name tags.

While he is doing that could he also add support for http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/campaign/ ? I am not sure why it is not already supported it seems to be the go to mod for MMO servers.
