MobHealth
MobHealth
Simple damage reporting. When you hit a mob, MobHealth tells you how much damage you did and how much health it has left: in chat, on the action bar, on the mob's name tag, as a boss bar, as a floating damage number, or as a health bar hovering over the mob. Any combination, and nothing for players to install.
MobHealth 11 is the classic plugin rebuilt around the NeoForge version's feature set, and it runs on every server line from Beta 1.7.3 to 26.3. Pick the file for your server:
+bukkit1.13-26.3: Spigot and Paper, 1.13 through 26.3+bukkit1.8-1.12: 1.8 through 1.12.2+bukkit1.7: CraftBukkit / Spigot 1.7.2 through 1.7.10+beta1.7.3: Beta 1.7.3 (CraftBukkit #1060, Poseidon, UberBukkit, Canyon)
Display modes
| Mode | Needs |
|---|---|
Chat: Zombie [||||||||||] 14/20 (-6) |
any server |
| Action bar: the same readout above the hotbar | 1.8+ |
| Nameplate: a coloured bar on the mob's name tag | 1.7+ |
| Boss bar: the widget at the top of the screen | 1.9+ |
| Damage indicators: red numbers that pop off the mob and rise | 1.8+ |
| Graphical: a floating bar riding above the mob | 1.19.4+ |
Bars go green → yellow → red as health drops. MobHealth says at startup which enabled modes your server cannot show, so nothing fails quietly.
Options
- Show for hostile, neutral and passive mobs, players and bosses separately, with per-mob
overrides (
minecraft:villager=false). - Only the attacker sees it, or everyone nearby.
- Bar length, glyphs, numbers as
14/20or70%, how long bars linger, how long after a kill. /mobhealth togglelets each player mute it;mobhealth.seelets you hide it from a rank.- The config has the same keys as the NeoForge mod, so one set of docs covers both.
Commands and permissions
/mobhealth reload (mobhealth.reload, op) · /mobhealth toggle [on|off] [player]
(mobhealth.toggle, everyone; mobhealth.toggle.others, op) · mobhealth.see (everyone)

Looks like MobArena has changed - java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.garbagemule.MobArena.waves.MABoss.getMaxHealth()
Are you using a build of MA for 1.6.1? If so i'll look over it and update as needed.

Posted Jun 19, 2013Is there a way to make the health bar appear immediately above mobs heads when you look at one? Not like players when it's always shown, but not having to hit the mob to know his health...

Not sure why you felt the need to post a link to another plugin here - bit rude tbh. Heath Bar is an awesome plugin - I even traded bug fixes with the author, and if you just want health bars - his plugin is always gonna be a few features ahead of me. MobHealth's focus is damage notifications, health bars is just a logical extra feature and i will be adding more control options for the bars in the future.

Thanks for the pull req - i'll tweak it to be even more flexable.. eg add some more options like only showing name for custom mobs etc.

Posted Jun 16, 2013@sablednah I have the same problem @malaxan is having, started the other day, can't see mob name (which i want to,) except here and there for a moment. Normally the name text is overwritten with red or grey hearts. I removed your mod, blew away the .yml files, reloaded the server, and verified i am running the most recent .jar. All to no avail. :(

Posted Jun 12, 2013This is an awesome plugin, but as always I have a few suggestions, I think support to disable Citizen npcs health bars should be added, and there should also be the option to disable health bar for a certain entity, Thanks you for creating this, it's deifnently in my top 5 fave plugins.

Health bars are prefixed by the mob name (ie, "Zombie Pigman: [||||||||||||||||]"). I find this a bit.. redundant for us, because we don't plan to have special named bosses, and we all know what a Zombie Pigman is :) It also shoves the bar way to the right of the name, which is very confusing if you're fighting a large group of mobs.
I think a feature in lang.yml to customize the format of the tag would be cool; something like.. tagFormat: "%n: %h" ...where %n is replaced with mob name and %h is replaced with health formatting.
Basically I -only- want health bars. No names, no notifications (which I have figured out how to disable, so no biggie there), just bars. If you'd like, I will set up a pull request for you.

Yeah side effect, damage reports is the plugins focus - healthbars was 'just' a complementary feature.
If forgot about squids (i always do!), serves e right for relying on instanceof Animal.
Can you explain more about what you envisioned (maybe in a pm?) at the moment you can turn on or off the health bar system to just leave damage notifications. - and disable them on villagers and animals.

Posted Jun 5, 2013Hey there.
I really like this plugin, and am considering putting it in the Official PlanetMinecraft Server, but I have one feature suggestion; could you have it hide the mob name by request? I don't intend to have superbosses/custom named enemies, and even if I did, I don't think underlings or regular mobs need a name attached to them, as it just makes the health bar harder to find. I checked the Configuration page, but it seems outdated as it's missing many entries so I'm not sure if I'm just missing something or not. Thanks!
Also, small bug: Squids are not considered "animals", so they still show a health bar.

The healthBarCharacter looks just like you have it. I don't have a healthPrefix line at all.
This is happening on brand new mobs that I /spawnmob. Any other ideas?
