MobHealth
MobHealth
Simple damage reporting. When you hit a mob, MobHealth tells you how much damage you did and how much health it has left: in chat, on the action bar, on the mob's name tag, as a boss bar, as a floating damage number, or as a health bar hovering over the mob. Any combination, and nothing for players to install.
MobHealth 11 is the classic plugin rebuilt around the NeoForge version's feature set, and it runs on every server line from Beta 1.7.3 to 26.3. Pick the file for your server:
+bukkit1.13-26.3: Spigot and Paper, 1.13 through 26.3+bukkit1.8-1.12: 1.8 through 1.12.2+bukkit1.7: CraftBukkit / Spigot 1.7.2 through 1.7.10+beta1.7.3: Beta 1.7.3 (CraftBukkit #1060, Poseidon, UberBukkit, Canyon)
Display modes
| Mode | Needs |
|---|---|
Chat: Zombie [||||||||||] 14/20 (-6) |
any server |
| Action bar: the same readout above the hotbar | 1.8+ |
| Nameplate: a coloured bar on the mob's name tag | 1.7+ |
| Boss bar: the widget at the top of the screen | 1.9+ |
| Damage indicators: red numbers that pop off the mob and rise | 1.8+ |
| Graphical: a floating bar riding above the mob | 1.19.4+ |
Bars go green → yellow → red as health drops. MobHealth says at startup which enabled modes your server cannot show, so nothing fails quietly.
Options
- Show for hostile, neutral and passive mobs, players and bosses separately, with per-mob
overrides (
minecraft:villager=false). - Only the attacker sees it, or everyone nearby.
- Bar length, glyphs, numbers as
14/20or70%, how long bars linger, how long after a kill. /mobhealth togglelets each player mute it;mobhealth.seelets you hide it from a rank.- The config has the same keys as the NeoForge mod, so one set of docs covers both.
Commands and permissions
/mobhealth reload (mobhealth.reload, op) · /mobhealth toggle [on|off] [player]
(mobhealth.toggle, everyone; mobhealth.toggle.others, op) · mobhealth.see (everyone)

I've not tested it yet. But if Ancient RPG use the new setMaxHelth() functions to control player/entity health then it should work "out of the box"

@Xarinor
I'll try to make the character used for the bar customizable for next release.
As for the visibility range - Thats set client side.
The only alternative is complex distance scanning to check where all players are in relation to each mob and then removing bars on those outside range - LagMonster loves his idea - lol
However I HAVE noticed that names with colour characters in them are always visible - whereas those without only show when looking at the entity. I would love for this to be fixed - but I THINK its a client side bug (or possibly - an undocumented surprise feature).

I've a few people reporting this.
If its showing 0% then your settings are correct. I'm still decoding what causes this.
Does it remain at 0 even when you take damage?
If you could open a ticket with as much info as possible - give exact version (don't say "latest") for your craftbukkit, and any other plugins which affect HP or damage in any way.

It works fine with the HealthBars plugin - just set showPlayerHeadHealth and showMobHeadHealth to false to disable MobHealth's bars - then HealthBar will handle the bars - and MobHealth Damage notifications.

It supports health bars...
And just a quick question/suggestion, is it possible that the health bar only displays once you have hit the mob and maybe after 1 minute it goes away?

Posted May 2, 2013Have you thought of implementing an option for the range in which the name(+health) are shown to players? At the current state the mob will be visible trough walls from afar after once hit. I might just have overlooked this option but i couldnt find a way to set it :)
Also there are better chars for the healthbar available in minecraft at the moment, maybe give the user an option on what symbols to use? (♥, ★, etc..)
The last change supporting customMobNames works wonderfully thanks :)
