Description:
MobDisguise is a plugin allowing you to transform into any mob you want, with no client mods! Just simple type /md disguise pig, and boom, everybody now sees and thinks your a pig! Can't quite take out the enemy pvp team? Transform into chickens, and sneak behind enemy lines! It even includes an API for other plugins to hook into, and can change players into mobs too!
Features:
- Disguise as any mob and be seen as such by all other players
- Enable or disable per-mob permissions, or give the .* permission for all of them
- Blacklist certain mobs you don't want
- Enable "RealDrops" and on death, a disguised player drops the correct item for his mob disguise, not his normal inventory
- A simple API that plugins can hook into to disguise/undisguise players
Commands:
All commands begin with /md, short for MobDisguise, to provide a simple command system
- /md baby ; toggle being a baby animal!
- /md stats ; Tells you what you're disguised or if you are disguised
- /md ; Turns you back into human form if disguised
- /md types ; Will give you a list of all valid mob types
- /md p [nameofplayer] ; Lets you disguise as that player!
- /md [mobtype] ; Will disguise you as the given mobtype
Permissions (PermissionsBukkit, bPermissions, PEX, but NOT! Permissions 3.1.6:
- mobdisguise.* ;Gives a player the ability to transform into all mobs
- mobdisguise.mob.[mobtype] ; Replace [mobtype] with the mobtype players can turn into
- mobdisguise.player ; Lets a player turn into othe players
Frequently Asked Questions:
- Q.Will you support Permissions 3.1.6?
- A. No.
- Q. I want to be able to have abilities when disguised, i.e creepers explode.
- A. Not going to do it.
- Q. Why doesn't it work?
- A. You're doing something wrong.
How to Install:
- Before installing, read the FAQ and see the page for common errors and how to fix .
- Download MobDisguise, here!
- Place .jar in your plugins folder.
- Done!

- Make a ticket with as much detailed information as possible

Posted Jan 27, 2012Could you please make a command to see the real person? like you tag someone and then ./md show Or just a permission node to see all players real. So admins can see the players normal. Because some times it is annoying that nobody know's who a mob is.
And could you add a timer to it? So that players can use ./md <name> but it only last xx seted minutes. And after the xx minutes they have to wait xx configured minutes before they can disguise again. Would be great if you can add this 2 features.

Also, regardless of the craziness involved, Thanks to SomeuserBms for attempting to give us a temporary fix, while we waited for the official version. I hope there wasn't any serious problems caused by the mix-ups.

Like I said, his license allows for free modification, as well as, free redistribution. What CAN'T be redistributed according to it, is modified code. Thus it is still open-source.
You seem to be interpreting "free redistribution" within the context of "free modification".

Posted Jan 27, 2012I may just be being pedantic, but one could go the the github directly and have full access and redistrabutibility [spelling?] of said source code without the licence he lists here ever being legally applied. I am not trying to be a spoilsport, I am just stating he either A he needs to change his licence here, or B he needs to attach the licence he has here to his source code on github.

Simple access to the source code is not what defines open source, but the free modification a redistribution is what defines it.

@NolanSyKinsley The part about open-source you are confusing is likely the "redistributable" part. His code IS redistributable. His license states that only modified code is not to be distributed but rather used personally or merged back into the project.
He still abides by their TOS because this is still considered open-source.

Posted Jan 27, 2012I am a little confused about his licence though... He his hosting his code on github in public repositories, and according to their TOS unless you are paying for their service the code you release in public repositories must be open source. I am not trying to cause a ruckus here, just wondering.... although he states here the licence he wants to have, the source code on github has no such licence attached to it.

Posted Jan 27, 2012Hey, love this plugin but it stopped allowing me to disguise myself as a mob. It comes up with the error message ' An internal error occurred while trying to perform this command' It would seem that this is the same error ageofmyth is having. If anyone has any solutions I would love to know as I am sure I am just doing something wrong. Cheers Bobby :D
