MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

If we update to that version where that bug is fixed, will the tags be gone from the current mobs with tags?

That's a bug, I had intended for the name to only be made visible when the name was custom, but apparently all mobs have names (the type that they are), not just the renamed ones.
This is not a game breaking bug and ill be fixing it after my finals are over.

All mobs or animals captured with mobcatcher and then back released.
Natural spawned mobs/animals dont have a tag.

If you're using correct versions of MobCatcher and CB (which you're not), make a ticket.

All you need to negate is the main parent node and inheritance should work correctly. Then add back the permissions in the groups where you want them.
Default Group: -mobcatcher.catch.*.*
Higher Group: mobcatcher.catch.peaceful

Posted May 7, 2013As I'm here looking for an update i'll help people who are having permissions problems.
This is how it works for permissionsEX (PEX)
For all groups you dont want to have mobcatcher add these permissions
- -mobcatcher.op.*
- -mobcatcher.catch.*
- -mobcatcher.catch.peaceful.*
- -mobcatcher.catch.hostile.*
You need to add these for EVERY group you dont want to have them as for me inheritance didnt seem to work for some reason.
For the group you do want to be able to use mob catcher you dont need to add anything. However I put the following to disable players catching hostile mobs.
- -mobcatcher.catch.hostile.*
I hoped this helped some people out I looked through all the comments and couldn't find any useful information.

Posted May 7, 2013I cannot seem to get the Permissions to work properly. The plugin acts as if it's always-on and in order to deny something, you need to set negative nodes in the Permissions config. Would this be accurate?

It looks like your using MobCatcher v3.8 which doesn't work with Bukkit 1.5.2. Wait for MobCatcher v3.9 to get through approval by bukkit team and use that instead.
I've tested it and at first glance it looks like it's working.. but haven't had time to test it thoroughly yet.
