MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Unfortunately, renamed mobs do lose their nameplate when being catched. Also, renaming a spawn egg does not spawn mobs with names. Is there a fix or is this a known problem to you?
I am using version 3.8 of your plugin, running 1.5-R0.2 beta

I've uploaded a new version for CB 1.5.1-R0.2 beta. Unfortunately, my server was acting up and I was unable to test the build. I'm fairly confident that its fine, but again, I can't say that for sure. I was also unable to test my hopper dupe fix, so it would be nice to hear from someone if that has worked as well. If it hasn't, then there isn't anything I can do about it until theres more api.

Posted Apr 14, 2013I believe I have found a glitch/bug with your plugin
When you throw a spawn egg into a hopper, the mob WILL SPAWN, fall into the hopper, and then the spawn egg will go into the hopper. Then, the egg in the hopper, will be a "Punch enchantment.level.69". And since we have VirtualPack (With Uncrafter), players can scrap this, and get the Level 69 punch book (No worries, when you use it in an anvil, it gives you Punch II)!!!! NOTE: You must have a few blocks stacked behind it, and have your mouse not selected on any block, then throw it so it will land inside the hopper.
But still, you NEED to fix this...

Posted Apr 12, 2013Could you possibly add the option so the mob name wont get put onto the egg, instead it just uses the mobtype?
For example if i catch a sheep named billy, the name of the spawn egg, will be billy. ild perfer, if i had an option to disable that, and just use the mob type.. Spawn Sheep or w/e it is.
It just a nuances, when players are auctioning mobs, and when they catch mobs, they grab the health bar, since my server has the health bar plugin. it just causes confusion.

Do you have data saving turned off? Because if its on, it saves their normal breeding cooldown time.

Posted Apr 12, 2013Would it be possible to fix the infinite breeding issue? Currently you can breed 2 animals, catch them both, spawn them both, then breed them again. This allows players to breed at a much faster rate than they should be able to.
My proposed solution would be to have a cooldown between the time players catch a mob and can spawn it. The cooldown could be set to the time it takes for an animal to be breedable again.

Letting a thrown spawn egg enter an hopper will spawn the animal and a new egg inside the hopper with the enchantment 'Punch 69'. (Punch enchantment.punch.69)
I have currently disabled hoppers from sucking in spawn eggs on my server to prevent this, but I would rather get a proper fix =)

3.7 was built for dev builds of 1.5.1, so that's why you're still getting that message. I'll expedit an update if its not working, but I would think it still runs fine.
