MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

I've not tested this in the last couple CB beta/RBs as it's not a feature I use. If it's having issues, make a ticket and I'll make sure it gets attention.

It depends a lot on how enderpearls are handled in the Bukkit api. If it's an easy addition I'd be happy to add it, but you should make a ticket.

Posted Dec 28, 2012Could you add enderpearls as projectiles and disable their teleport-ability when they're enabled as catchers? Right now I am using eggs and one enderpearl as "payment". Would be cooler if you could use them directly.

Posted Dec 27, 2012Does anyone else have a problem involving a dispenser and spawn eggs... No errors or anything pops up except the dispenser "dispenses" the eggs randomly in front of it as in it doesn't spawn right in front of the dispenser... but to the left most of the time and spawns the egg even through walls or they suffocate and die...

Posted Dec 27, 2012One last question. I've figured it out! But for PEX would i use "mobcatcher.catch.peaceful.*" instead of mobcatcher.catch.peaceful.*: true
I now know how to negate a permission sorry for the annoyance in the past. Really great plugin, very useful thank you for the development of this plugin :)

Posted Dec 25, 2012Maybe I am doing something wrong, but after installing the plugin. I haven't given permission nodes to anyone, however everyone can capture mobs. I wanted to configure it where only certain groups could use mobcatcher.
I gave higher ranks the ability to but lower ranks can still capture even without the permission node.

I don't get it, because some plugins are approved within an hour, yet mine consistently takes multiple days. By the time I get approved my plugin is on the 3rd or 4th page of recently updated projects...

Yeah, I very much prefer all my downloads to be counted on BukkitDev, which is why I don't typically release mirrors, but I suppose I'll make an exception since these are enable-breaking fixes you guys are waiting on.
