MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Posted Dec 23, 2012Due to my busy server, i cant check the plugin without any other plugins but i can tell you this: The following happens when throwing an egg in creative; It doesnt duplicate the result anymore. I do however see them falling as enchanted eggs (purple glow) yet can't pick them up as such. Also i see "[INFO] MobCatcher No Data"

That setting only applies to newly captured mobs, it won't affect old eggs.
If that's not the issue, make a ticket.

EDIT: How do I change it so the spawn eggs become stackable... i've tried both setting the "SaveDataAndRemoveStackability" to both true and false but the eggs still don't stack?

And if some of you could test the 1.4.6 version I'd really appreciate it. I'm not going to release until I know the spamming issues are fixed and I can't reproduce the issue. Hopefully that means it's fixed, but I need confirmation.

I made sure it was backwards compatible, yes, as I did previously use enchantments to save the egg's id, but that's not the case anymore.
Regardless, I've never used that particular enchantment in this plugin, so idk where that's coming from.
The 1.4.5 RB build is almost finished, just doing a bit of testing.
EDIT: Aaaaaaand of course my entity equipment saving/recalling classes need a complete rewrite due to the CB changes...

I can't recall which version it was at the time, but when 1.4 came out, all the eggs in my server had enchantments and had weird names in the tooltip. You fixed it afterwards, and all new spawn eggs appeared normally even though existing ones retained the enchantments. It was funny because people started fighting over the largest collection of "shiny eggs", the last in existence. XD
Anyways, thank you for taking the time to update! My players will be pleased to hear this. :D

I've definitely not added any enchantments. All of mobCatcher's egg data is on the NBT tags now.
And while I've not released a build for 1.4.6 (so you should be expecting bugs, people), try and duplicate that error with no other plugins.
@Puremin0rez suggested that you disable egg throwing for now if you insist on using an unsupported version of CB
I will be uploading 1.4.5 RB and 1.4.6 beta versions in a few hours.
So try and be patient ;)

Posted Dec 22, 2012Bahaha, dont use this on 1.4.6. I tossed 1 blaze egg and it spawned 100s of blazes and would stop spawning them till i shut the server down.. What a frightening site LOL.

I looked it up a bit, the Spawn Pig egg turned itself into an enchanted egg named: "Punch enchantment.level.69" which caused the massive production of pigs.

Posted Dec 22, 2012Got same issue on 1.4.6 R0.1. Waiting on new version or fix. Indeed either doesnt spawn anything or (looks a bit like an enchanted egg?!?) spawns thousands and thousands of them.

It started happening on the newest rb for 1.4.5 I'm pretty sure, they played around with itemstacks I think, I throw an egg and it never disappeared and kept spawning thousands of mobs. Did a restart and it went away, simply disabled the throwing of eggs and it fixed it.
There was a console error but I didn't save it and I can't even run this plugin on 1.4.6 right now anyways - but when I can, i'll try to catch it.
