MobCatcher
MobCatcher
Capture mobs and get eggs legitimately:
Version: 3.18
This project has moved over to SpigotMC!
Thank you guys so much for all the downloads on BukkitDev. Head on over to SpigotMC to download the latest version of MobCatcher.
This page will no longer be updated.
MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Again, go ask for help from PEX. They will know what to do. I've never used that plugin before.
If you can't find help on any of their help pages (which you surely should be able to), just ask how to remove a permission from a group. It's a pretty basic concept in setting up permissions. I'm really not sure how you don't know how to do that.

I don't know how your permissions plugin works. Just remove all the catch permissions from your default group. Whether your plugin uses "-" before the permission, or if you use the full node but set it to false, idk.
If you can't figure out how to remove a permission I'm not going to be able to help you.

This really is not complicated. I don't know how else to tell you. I've been very clear.
By DEFAULT all users have the catch permissions. You must override that default by assigning your default group a NEGATIVE node. Then, assign a POSITIVE node to the groups who you want to have permission.
groups default: -mobcatcher.*.* groupYouWantToHavePermission: mobcatcher.*.*-

I give my donators the PEACEFUL permission, but they can capture hostile , and my defaults can capture without any permissions

mobcatcher.catch.hostile.* gives you all hostile nodes
mobcatcher.catch.*.* gives you all mob nodes

Sorry for being rude. But if I want to give a certain rank permission to capture Hostile Mobs, and another rank to capture Peace full mobs, what permission do I put in each rank?

Make a ticket and describe what you want in as much detail as possible and I'll make sure I look into it.

Posted Dec 3, 2012Loved that you can give mobs enchanted items and catch it and it retains the info. :D
I do have 1 request, if I try giving it an enchantment item edited by NBT editor (http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/powernbt) it won't work. :(
Works fine with Essentials /enchant though, but that doesn't let me go passed the limit.
Is it possible in the future to get it to work?

If you'd make a ticket and attach your permissions file I'd be happy to help you. But generally you should ask a question rather than open up with a rude complaint, I'll respond quite a bit more positively to that (as would any human being)

I don't have any experience with PEX, but I do know how my permissions node work.
By default all users have the catch nodes. You remove them from your default group, then you add them back in your donator group. This should not be that complicated.

There shouldn't be anything in my code distinguishing between the types of villagers during capture. You should make a ticket and I'll have a look but I'm not sure what would be causing that.

Wow... I can't stand unappreciative, ignorant users.
There's nothing wrong with my permissions system. Your issue is user error. The catch permissions default to true. This is not a complicated concept. Defaults are set for every permission ever. If you don't understand how the bukkit permission nodes system works this is entirely your fault. Don't complain to me.
All of the information you need is right here. If this isn't enough for you to figure it out you should find a different hobby.
