MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Nothing is working. I use PEX (PermissionsEX) and I can't get anything to work. I want it so ONLY my donators can use this. Please negate this plugin honestly. It will make it easier to understand. The sooner, the better. Great plugin, horrible permissions. I did what you said, and I don't see no mobcatcher.catch . So help?

By default, the catch nodes in mobcatcher are true. This means every player starts out with the permission. You will have to remove the permission from the default group (-mobcatcher.catch.whatever) and then readd it to the group you want to have permission (mobcatcher.catch.whatever).

i am still lost sorry, now this seemed relevant to my post where you last said "The catch nodes default to true, you've got to negate them" problem is i still am so clueless to what to do, im sure im an idiot and its staring me in my face but i cant see where to do this! i am sorry to be such a bother :[

If it's consistently in a certain world or in a certain area, I would check that you don't have other plugins cancelling spawns.
If you can run with only MobCatcher on your server and are still having problems, make a ticket and I'll look into it. Likely tho, this is just a conflict that I can't do anything about.

Posted Dec 2, 2012Is there a way to allow those mobcatcher signs to protect the animals from being hurt by other players? Even though the animals cant be caught, some players are still going into the pens and killing the animals.

Ingame though I can capture mobs without it being charged 5 redstone as an admin, have I got it wrong?

AH. I wasn't even aware of that mechanic. Okay, likely it's the exact same issue tho. The revived villager is an entirely new entity with the same glitchy spawn reason, so MobCatcher cancels it.
I'll see what I can do, but with the Villagers spawn reasons still broken its tough for me to get this working properly.

Posted Nov 24, 2012I mean use Potion of weaknes + golden apple for revive of zombie villager. Without this plugin is all functional. But with him, after using the combination potion + apple, villager disappears.
