MobCatcher
MobCatcher
Capture mobs and get eggs legitimately:
Version: 3.18
This project has moved over to SpigotMC!
Thank you guys so much for all the downloads on BukkitDev. Head on over to SpigotMC to download the latest version of MobCatcher.
This page will no longer be updated.
MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Posted Aug 26, 2012I just updated this plugin yesterday. Haven't looked much into it, but a player on my server this morning was complaining that his villagers were disappearing after spawning them with the egg. Please fix this!

you can assign negative nodes to anyone who you dont want to be able to catch a certain mob.
My next major goal is rewriting the entire permissions system. This was my first plugin, and the permissions system is admittedly terrible.

Posted Aug 25, 2012Is there any way to make it so individual people can only catch certain mobs? I can't quite wrap my head around the permissions file.

not that I'm aware of.
I'm going to add angry wolves to the hostile permission, and normal wolves to the peaceful permission.
Next release.

Posted Aug 24, 2012In permissions where I disabled mobcatching through nohostile && no peaceful mob capture, Wolfs can still be captured. Is there anything else that can still be captured?
Thank you!

As of right now, it doesn't save their trading inventories, so that's not an issue (yet). But you can simply set SaveDataAndRemoveStackability in your config to false.

Posted Aug 19, 2012I cant seem to get it to make the eggs stack. I'd rather have the eggs stack since otherwise you could just directly capture and spawn x villager type without it saving what they were previously trading, allowing someone to easily cycle through a particular type for a particular trade.

Looks like it had to do with a bug in bukkit and the work around i put in place.
I think I've got it fixed, testing it now to double check. I guess I just didn't wait long enough to see if they actually bred, does it take a lot longer than it used to? I remember them breeding like rabbits in 1.2.5, but now I only got like 5 in an hour, which is why I was quick to assume it wasn't working even without my plugin.
Anyways, I'm gonna leave it running for awhile just to make sure it's working now. Again, now it's a work-around for a work-around for a bukkit bug *sigh* if they just fixed the bug, I could remove the entire event and everything would be perfect, lol.

Posted Aug 18, 2012@Malikk65 I can't explain it, either, but after well over a week of not a single baby villager spawning (only seeing hearts briefly that would fade away with no breeding), I successfully bred villagers in the same village that wasn't working all this time after removing MobCatcher. Does MobCatcher do anything with the age of villagers when spawning them, or something else that could be subtlety affecting it in some cases?

Even without MobCatcher on my server, they won't breed for me.
Bukkit bug? https://bukkit.atlassian.net/browse/BUKKIT-2216
EDIT: With the 1.3.1-R1.0 RB and no plugins, I see the hearts but no baby villagers are spawned.
Not a MobCatcher bug.
