MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Just uploaded v2.11, which has permission nodes for wolves, ocelots, and villagers. I was, however, unable to test it because my permissions system is being a bit screwy. There's no reason why it shouldn't work, but if somebody would let me know for sure, I'd appreciate it.

I personally use Showcase Standalone. Its basically a rewrite of the old Showcase plugin, but doesn't have spout dependencies. It creates a floating item that cant be picked up and when people click on it, they can buy it. So, each item needs its own space, not sure if that works for you, but it's my favorite.
And it definitely supports enchantments and durabilities

Ive never used chest shop. But i would check to see if it even supports spawn eggs. The way bukkit handles spawn eggs, they've all got the same item id and its the durability that determines what type of egg it is. If chest shop doesnt support durabilities or enchantments, there's really nothing I can do about it.

Hi Malikk,
Recently we have some players who've been trying to sell the animals they've bred by catching them into eggs. However, it doesn't seem to be working at all with Chestshop. Is this a known issue? We used /iteminfo to get the exact xxx:xx-xxx value and chestshop would not recognize it... only telling the buyer that the shop is sold out.

Naw, I'll get it done. Its just, this was my first plugin, so it's really unorganized and hard to work with and I'm working on 2 other projects atm, not to mention, I'm a full time college student, lol.
But I'll add the Wolf, Ocelot nodes tonight.

Well, in the config, the item costs and the capture item are totally separate things. If you can't figure it out, post a pastebin link for you config. But the CaptureItem>UsedOnCapture is want you wanna look at.
As far as making sure players don't capture instead of fighting, you could make the capture chance for hostile mobs lower, or turn them off, even. Up to you.

Posted Apr 18, 2012I don't want my players to need requirement to capture a mob so I turn it off. When they throw a egg they lose a egg like how I wanted it, but when they I think right click(or left click) they keep the egg and get the mob egg. I don't want them to start exploiting the fact they can ignore mobs without fighting it by just hitting it with a egg.

Feel free. I've got more 2.5 times more downloads on single versions than EggCatcher has in its entirety. If you're willing to give up specific mob data, area protection, and throwing spawn eggs, among other things, for a couple permissions nodes to distinguish cows and pigs, that's your call. Suit yourself.
I won't even take that link down. Let the people choose.
Not to completely dismiss the idea, however. Make a ticket and if it gets enough upvotes ill add it in.

Yeah that's what I mean. I'd like to have the ability to only allow some players to catch some of the peaceful mobs while not allowing others to do so, for example ocelots and wolves. Want to be able to give those to donators and not all other mobs to the other players who haven't donated.

There's nodes for every hostile mob, but theres no specific nodes for peaceful ones, simply peaceful allowed or not.
