MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

I'm got it in the hands of my bug testers and I'm ironing out some glitches here and there. It should be good to go in a few days, but the holidays aren't leaving me with a whole lot of time.Got more work on it done today than I thought. I'm giving my bug testers another day with it, but I think it's good to go. It is compatible with the 1.7.2-R0.2 beta build

Posted Dec 25, 2013iam using this plugin in my server for months now . my server cant operate without it tho . i disabled it when 1.7.2 came out . the thrown egg bug crashes the server and i cant capture mobs . can i ask when will the update be released ? thankyou so much for this plugin its awesome and simple to use

I had no idea people we're hoarding the shiny eggs, lol, thats pretty funny. I had been using the level of an enchantment to save the mobs id number, but then switched over to nbt tags but left the old system intact for backwards compatibility.
And the new version for 1.7 is nearly finished. My bug testers have found a couple of things and once I'm done polishing them all out ill be uploading soon.

He probably has a good reason to not make it public. I recall that one time (I believe between MC1.1 and MC1.2 or something like that) where all eggs in the world became shiny and enchanted-looking after updating. When MobCatcher updated it didn't fix those shiny eggs, but newly caught eggs looked normal. People slowly started to realize this and all of a sudden they started hoarding these "limited edition" eggs and selling them for large sums of cash and some people became notably rich by selling shiny eggs alone. I acknowledged this as a feature and shiny eggs were a 'thing' in my server for a long time, until the map reset. I remember my chestful of shiny sheep eggs... good ol' times.
Now imagine something like that, except instead of shiny eggs you have eggs that have a chance to spawn 100 diamond block entities instead of a mob (not that that's actually happened). I'm guilty of using experimental software all the time on my server, but I've learned to not fuck around with MobCatcher. So if Malik markets something as a bug testing version, do treat it as such.

Due to a lot of background changes in bukkit and nms, I'm starting from scratch on a LOT of mechanics for this plugin (Mainly my data saving and item mechanics). It's going to be quite some time before this is finished for 1.7. I'll be releasing a basic version soon that doesn't save any mob data so you guys can update if you really need to. That's pretty much the best I can do for now, this is a colossal mess and a colossal amount of work in front of me.Scratch all of that. I actually had a huge breakthrough and everything is looking about a thousand times better than I expected. It'll be the same drill as my other dev build releases, I can only guarantee stability on the specific version of CB that I built against, due to how quickly these dev builds can change. This time around, that version is #2959. Feel free to use it on more recent versions when they are released, but I'll be paying no attention to your bug reports.
I'm finishing it up now and I'll let the bug testers at it for a few days before I release here. Speaking of which, PM me if you're interested in bug testing and I'll add you to the conversation.
