MobCatcher
MobCatcher
Capture mobs and get eggs legitimately:
Version: 3.18
This project has moved over to SpigotMC!
Thank you guys so much for all the downloads on BukkitDev. Head on over to SpigotMC to download the latest version of MobCatcher.
This page will no longer be updated.
MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Posted Dec 12, 2013I was running this plugin on all dev and official 1.6.x builds of server (as they were being released). It always worked perfectly, and only now, on 1.7.x it's not working at all, which is kind of to be expected and will be fixed as soon as author make an updated version. If someone said it was not working on 1.6 it may only mean that he didn't updated his config file.
Edit: If you are using some odd version of server (like I was using spigot for a good while) the server console will report that it's unsupported version of the server and plugin might not work as it should, yet I haven't encountered any issues myself.

That bug has never been in a version i've released on the intended version of CB. That's caused by errors due to you guys using an incompatible CB.

I rather it not be rushed and have 1000s mobs spawn from one egg. :D

Posted Dec 3, 2013Had no issues during 1.6.4 even with Spigot's protocol patched version. I would go for the development build of 1.7.2 when you are ready and have time.

Kinda, eggs mobs but doesn't keep attributes in 1.6.4 RB2.0, also spams the console with a lot of errors.
I'm going to be updating to a 1.7.2 build shortly anyhow, so for me at least there would be more value in an early 1.7 dev release of Mob Catcher.

Is the plugin working on the 1.6.4 RB? I'll have time soon to get some work done on this and i need to know if i need to be working on 1.6 or if i can get a head start on 1.7
@LiLChris06
Good advice, lol.
@FlOppythp
Unfortunately, there's not really anything I can do without seeing his code. Sorry.

Posted Dec 1, 2013Do not use this with the recent 1.7.2 builds! Wait till Malikk65 updates the plugin, and don't ask for ETAs.
Just a friendly reminder to those who are fairly new to this plugin and Bukkit updates. :)

That's not my problem. I'm using and cancelling all the events that I'm supposed to. The other dev has got to be uncanceling events or changing spawn reasons or something odd for that issue to be happening. Talk to them

While my plugin should be causing errors in 1.6.4-R2 until I finish updating it would definitely say it was MobCatcher in your logs. I don't know what those other errors are, but it would say MobCatcher (probably NoClassDefFound) if it was that issue.

Posted Nov 24, 2013I guess I shouldnt write comments after midnight. (this one is an exception) So, after I configured and installed your plugin, the day after that, my server running on R2.0 bukkit got twice as buggy...meaning that to the unknown error that was tormenting me the week before, random crashes about tiles and stuff were added...is there any possibility that it was due to the version mismatch you said is to be avoided at all costs? Your plugin was mentioned nowhere in the error logs, which were actually reports by NoLagg about thread not responding... I'm sorry if I sound unreasonable or chaotic, I am just searching for an explanation...

The plugin developer should have to do anything to conform to a permissions plugin. Take it up with them, I guarantee my nodes are working properly on this end.
