MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

I uploaded a new version for 1.6.2 about 7 hours ago. We're just waiting for it to be approved.

I built against 1.6.2-R0.1 #2812. It should continue to work until there's a beta build, but that's not always the case.

The only time that happens is when you are using the wrong version of CB for your version of MobCatcher and the plugin is spewing errors. Not my fault ;)

Please be patient, rather him take a month and it be bug free than a disaster like unlimited spawning happens by rushing the plugin.

Posted Jul 18, 2013I'm uploading the new version for 1.6.2 right now.
A special thanks to all my bug testers, who have greatly expedited this release and helped me tackle a lot of issues that would otherwise still be in this release.
The only known issue right now is that the data gets erased for players in creative mode. This is a bug within Bukkit and there's not anything I can do about it.

Suggestion: It would be nice to see a Jenkins build server, so we could grab builds and bug test them. This would also prevent situations like this update has caused.
Suggestion 2: Would also be nice to see a Github page, so developers could contribute to the project.

Posted Jul 15, 2013I really wanna make sure that this version is stable and everything is working properly. I've finished work on it and have sent it out to a few testers, who hopefully will be telling me that everything is working great.

Good news, the update with horses is nearly finished. I'm having some major bugs that im having a hard time replicating and there are no errors, so Im not sure that the people I asked to test it could help me at all. As soon as I iron this out, ill be uploading.
EVERYTHING is now saved for horses :) Right down to the nbt tags of the items in their inventories. Everyone rejoice in how awesome I am :)

I would love to see a release without horses in it for 1.6.2. It will be worth the wait to have them implemented correctly, and in the meantime it would be great to have the other eggs working. Thanks for all your hard work, my whole server is looking forward to the update.

The RB in its original sense was the build they recommend that you use; I suppose you are right in saying that's not really how it is anymore but even so the most recent beta build is still for 1.5.2. Bukkit didn't just wait until right before 1.6 came out to release a RB, that's how long it takes to get to a reliable, stable build. Right now updating is taking a lot longer due to inconsistencies and bugs in the early 1.6 dev builds.
Idk, I really think I can finish this today tho. If I'm about to run out of time, I might stop early and do some rewriting to get a no-horses release out.

No I don't mean for you to spoil your reputation or rush. That is totally understandable. But a version that is like the old ones that is compatible with the new version of Bukkit would be nice. But, I highly disagree with what you say about staying with a recommended build. Remember that Bukkit did not release a RB until a week before 1.6, which is common. BBs are what people should keep with using and that is what most servers use. DBs i agree are super glitchy and shouldn't be used unless necessary.
Also I might add, I will donate 50 dollars to this amazing plugin as soon as it is updated.
